Guest guest
Dusty, when I think about it, I think that I first heard about multi- dosing from a Top Doc! And it made sense since our own thyroids would not be dumping our entire daily dose at one time during the day!!! hahaha Keep up the good work, Dusty!! Janie aka ThyroDiva >I'm looking forward to hearing what she thinks of my 3 times a day dosing (instead of twice a day like she said to do) and the sublingual dosing of the Armour (she never mentioned that to me)...she'll probably say " if it works for you and you feel good...go for it " > Dusty

Guest guest
Janie, When I visited to my endo today, she said that as long as the Armour didn't keep me awake, that it was OK to take it 3 times a day. She even suggested that since I really " crash " when it wears off (it just feels like everything is " sagging " when it wears off) that I could even take the whole 270mg daily dose that I'm on now, and divide it into 4 or 5 multi-doses instead of 3 doses like I do now. She said that " she learned something today " when we discussed taking one's Armour sublingually. She said that is possible with about any tablet (if you can stand the taste!) but that she hadn't heard of doing it with Armour. She said that it's obvious that it's working for me and that she was going to keep it in mind for other patients also. I explained to her about where I was learning these things and she asked for the name of the group. She seemed interested in how well so many have learned to monitor their own meds and be an active part of their treatment. I also asked her about the circadian rhythm of thyroid hormone release. She said that when going to sleep, melatonin is released. The release of melatonin causes the release of T4 which is converted into T3 (assuming one can do the conversion). The T3 peaks early in the morning and causes one to wake up (assuming one sleeps until waking up naturally). She suggested compounding a tablet with Armour and melatonin to take at bedtime...I might try that later. I hope this helps... Dusty Re: (DUSTY) Thyroid Secretion in healthy person? Guest guest
Cool, Multi-Dosing Rules!!!! hehehehehe Just teasing... I'm dosing everything I take multiple times, except calcium and iron because of absorption issues and vitamin E because it's a gel cap and can't be split. I've even started splitting my multi-vitamin tabs into 8 bits (it's doable with a caplet) and taking a bit with each of my mini-meals during the day and an extra at night with the once a day supplements. I am going to go out on a limb and say that my body likes it! I've pretty much got my home made pill box set up now so that when the hourly chime goes off on my PDA it's time to pop whatever is in the next compartment in the box... Total no brainer! Guest guest
Dusty, this fantastic doc you are seeing is an ENDO???????? Shock and amazement. There IS a God. The VAST majority of endo's are thyroid idiots, Synthroid Nazi's, and closed minded with a key. You, my dear, are very lucky. And I would love to put the name of this Endo in our file of docs. Guest guest
Janie, I found my awesome endo on the Top Docs list on About.com. Her name is Jackie Springer and she is in Overland Park, KS. She originally is a Chemist and went to Med school at 36 to become an endo. Her website is www.drspringer.medem.com . I just looked it up and I notice she now has an office in East Hampton, NY also. She believes in using bio-identical hormones as much as possible. She really listens to her patients. I feel so blessed to have found her to treat my husband and I. Dusty Re: (DUSTY) Thyroid Secretion in healthy person? Dusty, this fantastic doc you are seeing is an ENDO???????? Shock and amazement.
