Hi Diane

Hang in there, you are seeing something even if its small, lots of smalls

make a big!

I ended up feeling pretty hopless after my sister visited with her 2.5 year

old, my Sam is 5.4. Spending a few days with this NT little boy really

brought it home to me how far behind Sam is. BUT......he is happy and I'm

gonna get him healthy

Hello, I am very new to all of this, so forgive if I ask a silly question. What

is the connection with normal size pupils? My son, has very large pupils,

around 70% of the time.

Thanks

We finished our third round of DSMA/ALA Saturday night. Started Thursday

morning. My son will be three next week, so I was hoping I would see good

progress quickly. I do see things that I think is because of chelation.

His balance is a little better. Sometimes his pupils are the normal size

instead of huge. But this weekend we stayed with friends who have a three

year old and a 9 month old. Spencer played very little with them. Mostly

he just wanted to sit and stim. I kept trying to redirect him, but he would

just find something else to stim with, even his shirt. This was mostly on

Sunday, which was the first day off. I was hoping he would be more willing

to do things with the kids. I feel overwhelmed with his stimming.

I'm doing 1/4 mg per pound every 3 hrs and every 4 thru night. Today he

does seem a little less stimmy. Thank goodness.

I've read that dilated pupils could mean mercury toxicity. My son's pupils

were always dilated until now. They are probably dilated about 70% of the

time now that we're chelating.

Hi, Diane!

One thing that has really helped my kids has been identifying which food and

substance allergies they have. I have been taking them to an MD who does the

endodermal allergy testing, which is much more comprehensive than traditional

testing. Also, once the foods and substances are identified, the doctor then

gives sublingual drops that are antigens which desensitize them to the foods and

substances. With this method, you can virtually test for anything. If you are

interested, go to http://www.starttechhealth.com , and find the list of

practitioners for someone near you that does it. Chelation alone, I have found,

is not the only answer. Also, we supplement (each child is different, and I

insist on testing for deficiencies first before testing). However, with my

daughter (who is Autistic), I have found that she does well on lots of ascorbic

acid (pure Vit.C, Thorne brand) and magnesium taurate because of her

constipation problems despite not having tested for these particular

deficiencies. Also, my kids take Melatonin for sleep issues (I don't know if

your child has this problem), which has made their health improve overall. I

think we still have a ways to go, so I am going to check out parasites with my

daughter as well as allergies.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi diane,

Know the feeling very well. My son was non verbal until 3.8 mos old

after talking normally til 24 mos. His self stimming drove me nuts.

I found that Vitamin A therapy and DMG helped with the dilated pupils

which is a dificiancy in the body. Some of the self stimming is

associated with visual problems. I stil give my son high doses of

Vitamin A (5,000 to 10,000 IU) a day to help with his vision DMG also

helps and promotes speech in PDD kids. My next boost in less self

stiming came went I put my son on the GF/CF diet. In fact we had

been CF since three mos (food allergies) but I never thought to go GF

until I neighbor suggested it after reading it in the Newsweek

magazine. What a dramatic difference, especially in meltdowns, hand

eye coordination and balance. The Vitamin A deficit is thought to be

associated with mercury or metal overload because Vitamin A like C

and others are antioxidants that are used by the body to expell

foreign thigns in the blood that shouldn't be there. It's

theororized that the body is dificiant in many key Vitamins,

minerals, enzymes, and proteins that are essential to the bodies

chemical makeup. That's why chelation is so important to get out of

the body the excess metals that are depleating the body of it's

natural antioxidants and antivirals and good flora. All the

overgrowths and deficiancies are related in some way to heavy metal

toxicity. (Side not the Vit A dose I give exceeds recommendated

amounts, as do so many other treatments, but it is necessary to

monitor Vit A for overdose in the body. Our pediatrician is kind

enough to order blood work every 3 months to keep an eye on it. In

the 2 years we've been doing it my sons levels have always been below

1500ius what does that tell you. His body is using up every day,

this is one of the reasons I started chelating two weeks ago and its

going well- more language, politeness, affection, speech. Hang in

there you'll find the right things that work for your son I'm sure of

it.) Sorry its a bit long
