<< 3)Do some isometric exercises asap: Put hands clasped behind neck,

elbows out and gently push back head into your hands, this helps

strengthen and work out those tight neck muscles. >>

ack

i think this would be somewhat dependant on the doctor , and his guidance

....but i was told no putting your arms up at shoulder height , or above , for

at least the first 6 weeks .....then the doctor extended this limmitation to

first 3 months , before saying ok ,now you can start slow and easy .

his reason was ....doing so , pushes c1 up against and into the area where

the tonsils are ..this can put presure against the dura graft , strain

internal stitches , cause more swelling ect in that area .

soo ....please do discuss limmitations , and when you can start doing things

, specifically with your doctor , and addressed specifically to what youve

had done .

i know the doctor Dori's daughter sees , does surgery a different way that the

more tradional decompresion I had .....this isnt ment to negate the excelent

sugestions Dori wrote .....only to say , that its not the same for all chiari

folks , and not the same guidelines from all the doctors .

Another limmitation my doctor put in place , was dont lift more than 5 pounds

.....same timelines .
