Guest guest
Hmmm, I'm pretty sure it says no soy or yeast. I'll have to look this evening. I couldn't even bring myself to take it this morning. Ish. Guest guest
Well, they had a sale on certain supplements at the health food store I shop at (½ off). I found this combo Selenium, Co-Enzyme Q10 and a bit of Vitamin E. Its made by Now, and I'm pretty darn sure it doesn't have soy or yeast in it. > Zina, > > What brand of selenium are you taking? Guest guest
A lot of vit e and coq is suspended in soy. Look for lethicin in it! Guest guest
Yah, I know this. I usually stay away from stuff that has lethicin in it. I'll have to look this evening. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi EveryOne, It is definitely more difficult to lose weight when hypothyroid but it is possible:-)) I managed to lose 30 pounds before I went on Armour and I have lost 20 pounds since. All of this weight gain came after I was hypothyroid. All my life I have been thin. Now I am thin again:-)) I used Diet Power software ( free trail available) to keep track of my weight, calories, exercise etc. It gave me the information and feedback I needed to lose weight. I am now at the weight I chose as my goal six months ago. I still may take off another few pounds if I feel like it. I will keep using the Diet Power software to help me to maintain the weight loss until my body gets used to the new " set point' Lots of people use the low carb Atkins type diet but I used a low calorie diet because I didn't want to give up all the fruits and berries in the summer. I also wanted a way of eating that I could live with long term. It is important not just to lose the weight but to learn new habits of eating good foods, eating slowly and with appreciation, eating small portions, drinking enough water, etc. etc. etc. It isn't easy but it is worth it and so are you!!! You will find more info on the Diet Power software free trial on our Thyroid-Adrenal Connection website....... Guest guest
Joanna, what helped me to keep focused on IE is reading and posting here as well as reading a couple of IE type books. Some people have used cards with IE thoughts/ideas on them as motivational devices. One great idea I was recently told (by our fearless leader here - Gillian) is to put a note on one's refrigerator saying - If you aren't really hungry, you won't find what you need in here. And for sure when you find what works for you, please DO POST it here so we all can add it to our bag of tricks ehugs, Katcha > > Any advice to keep my self focused on IE > and not so much on weight loss? Guest guest
I am wondering if you went through the food-legalization period, where you allowed yourself to eat free from any restraints? If not, you may have to do that, which may mean re-gaining the weight you have lost over the last two weeks, but which will then get rid of the obsession. IE isn't really about losing weight (not to me, anyway, although I have lost some), but about learning to listen to your body and shut out all the other voices. I think some people do lose weight early on but most of us take quite some time to legalize the food, re-teach our minds and bodies, and let our metabolism catch up. I think personally it was about seven months before a single pound came off. Jen Email and AIM finally together. You've gotta check out free AOL Mail! Guest guest
Joanna I haven't gotten to my 'natural' weight as of yet, but I will say that I feel one whole LOT better about how/what I eat which is a great start for IE 'totally' in my life too. As much as none of us want to hear it, it really can take months, if not year(s) for one's body to 'get' IE and allow the excess that bugs us NOW go away. And considering that it has taken me years to get the excess added on, any 'reverse' of direction is great by me I have had the great fortune to 'meet' quite a few people who HAVE obtained their natural weights via IE and they all say the same thing - hang in there and let IE be what you want foir yourself.
