Guest guest
Mandy Is the prophy paste the stuff they use to polish your teeth after cleaning? I asked my dentist to check and they say it has no gluten. I have had problems in the past with my mouth breaking out inside after teeth cleaning and wondered if there was gluten in something they use. What brands have gluten and which ones don't? ita
Guest guest
ita-Yes, the prophy paste is the polish. Did your dentist actually check? You know how some people who aren't gluten free like to assume that things are gluten free when really they are not. There are many different brands so I can't give you any specifics because our rep just checked on the products that we use. If you want you could probably call up your dentist office just as a anonymous caller and ask what brand of prophy paste they use and then do a little research on the net. If it's not gluten free, I would request your dentist to buy some that is. If not switch dentists, because if they aren't willing to go out of there way for a patient then it's not worth staying a patient. The dentist that I work for is just a great man who goes out of his way for patients all of the time. So I don't know if all dentists are like this or if he is just one of a kind. Also if your mouth breaks out it might be the latex gloves, have the hygienist use vinyl next time to see if it helps. ~Mandy~
Guest guest
Mandy I will find out what brand they use. I only asked them if their gloves had wheat flour inside and they say their gloves don't have a powder in them. I didn't think about the latex being a problem - just gluten. Thanks for your input. ita
