Guest guest Posted July 2, 2006 Report Share Posted July 2, 2006 THE EU-INDIA MEDIA INITIATIVE ON HIV/AIDS TV Workshops on Reporting HIV/AIDS, 2006 Applications invited from Indian TV journalists/ programme makers The Thomson Foundation invites applications from Indian television journalists and programme makers for workshops on Reporting HIV/AIDS. Upon selection, participants will attend a fully residential three-day workshop in August/September, 2006. The workshops will be conducted by international trainers using a multidisciplinary approach to add new dimensions to the participants’ reporting of HIV/AIDS. THE EU-INDIA MEDIA INITIATIVE ON HIV/AIDS (www.aidsandmedia.org) is being undertaken by The Thomson Foundation with the financial assistance of the European Union. The Thomson Foundation (www.thomsonfoundation.co.uk), based in Cardiff (UK), is a premier media training organisation that provides training in dozens of countries every year. The workshops are open to Indian TV professionals who: Cover issues related to HIV/AIDS or health, or demonstrate a viable interest in doing so Have at least two years of continuous media experience Possess a working knowledge of English There is no age limit. Successful applicants will attend one of the following workshops: 1. Aug 30-Sept 1, 2006 TV Workshop 1 Shimla 8 participants 2. Sept 4 -Sept 6, 2006 TV Workshop 2 Shimla 8 participants There is no cost to participants or their organisations - accommodation will be provided for the duration of the workshop and travel costs will be reimbursed on receipt of required details. Preparatory work before attending the workshops is required and full-time attendance will be expected during these intensive workshops. The Workshops are a prelude to the “Reporting HIV/AIDS Awards”, which recognise excellence in covering HIV/AIDS. The Award is a study tour of select European institutions. The deadline for applications is: July 24, 2006.
