Guest guest
My gynocologis has been seeing me for 5 plus years every 6 months to minitor a fibroid I have. I manage it with a prescription pain killer when I have my period. My periods in the last yr. have become heavier so I am up during the night after 3 to 4 hrs. drenched through even though I have a tampon and pad on. My period also lasts a good 7 days. I had a internal sono and one on my belly yesterday. My doctor is recommending not a hysterectomy but just the removal of the fibroid (it's growing inside my uterus and is approximately 2 " ). He said this would be day surgery and can go back to work in 4 or 5 days. I am 47 and he feels that if I wait much longer that as I go into memopause it may become more complicated and he said then I could be looking at a hysterectomy. I thought fibroid shrink as you go into memopause, but he said the type I have would continue to give me problems and if I take estrogen therapy it would only feed same. Please anyone that can shed some light on my particular situation and possible what you have done, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thank you. __________________________________________________
