Guest guest
Grace I had a large fibroid and was told to go ahead and try to concieve. Was successfull without intervention from my RE. I did have a myomectomy 1 1/2 years before for a previous fibroid. My RE said to wait three months before trying to concieve after my Myomectomy. I waited longer wanting my body to heal well before carring a baby. Do be aware that fibroids can and did grow back with me shortly after my myomectomy about 1 year later I estimate. If I knew this was going to happen I would of probably tried to concieve sooner after my myomectomy probably 6 months instead of a year. Are you beginning IVF because the fibroid is making it difficult to concieve? If you are referring to Lupron as drug therapy I do not believe doctors recommend this while trying to get pregnant since it causes you to go into menopause temporarily. I was just about your age when I my fibroids were diagnosed. You may want to ask your RE if he has had any patients get pregnant and have successfull pregnancies with similar size fibroids-same location ect... Ask him your % of carring a baby to term. Mine said 90% to 95% with my fibroid and previous MYO surgery? You may want to just get a second opinion to see if everything is on tract with your doctor, but by all means if you are comfortable with him keep him. Although this May be difficult in some areas due to limited RE doctors available. Hope this helps Patty
