Guest guest
Our Dr recommended doing either 2 days on/5 days off rounds or 3/11. I'd like to chelate every week since my son will be 6 soon but I know it's normally 3/4. Could anyone tell me the disadvantages of doing 2 days instead of 3? (I admit, the thought of only waking up 2 nights is mighty appealing!) Thanks, Joan

I realize getting up at night is pretty unpleasant. If you think of it as if you were getting up to pee it might not bother you as much. The length of chelation and its effect on outcome are unfortunately not terribly well established. My observation and experience has been that people who do 1 day cycles routinely end up with psychiatric problems, while those who do 3 day cycles don't. Based on my general experience and impression I think trying for 3 day cycles is really best, and worth the effort compared to 2 day cycles, but I can't enumerate a lot of experience or data that points to this. Certainly 2 days is MUCH better than one. I'd encourage you to try 3 days a few times and 2 a few times and then decide which one you think is best for your kid. I'd also encourage you to decide on the " skip time " yourself, based on how much your son seems to need. Chelation protocols are pretty individual. . . . .. > > Th

What I do is start in the morning (usually on Thrusday or Friday morning) as soon as I get up. I then continue through 2 nighttime wakeups, and continue into the evening on the 3rd day. I stop before going to bed on the 3rd day. This is 2.6 days of chelation with TWO nights of waking up. This may or may not work for you, depending on your school schedules (etc). best wishes, Moria
