It is possible to get a very low fat kielbasa, if you really want it. It is

made with turkey and has low fat.

meat for dinner

There really isn't any meat that I don't eat except stuff like kilbasa, hot

dogs, and stuff that is too fatty. Meat is a protein and not a carb so it

doesn't raise you bg's. I happen to prefer fish for dinner and have it

maybe

4 times a week, chicken once, beef once and pork, once. I make fantastic

salsa's for my fish and love them. Variety in eating is all in how you

cook it

to make it exciting.

have to admit, for me, its tough to not be able to eat certain foods, its

seems that everything you eat is not good for you, unless you want turkey

chicken and fish all the time, and i have to tell, you i get about sick of

it, smiles. I am so turkeyed out, that the thanksgiving turkeys just got a

pardon this year, from my dinner plate. and chicken, if i never see another

it will be to soon. some times my frustration level rises, probably because

i love food, but hated that stuff all the time growing up too, smiles,

Where on Earth do you get Ostrich? How about Emu?

I like Buffalo. Quail is wonderful when properly fried. It only takes a

jillion to make a good mess.

Man, that brings back memories of my Grandmother preparing Quail for

breakfast.......

There are lots of Ostrich farms in Georgia, and you can get it at some of

the more expensive restaurants. I also like veneson, but very few people

know how to prepare deer meat. Quail is delicious, but it takes a lot of

them to fill the tummy. Squirrel is okay, but I do not like its resemblence

to a fuzzy tail rat. I also love turtle, too. I have also eaten dried

locust, but it taste too much like eating raw grass or hay, but it is hard

to beat chocolate ants.

Harry,

Chili made with veneson is truly delicious!! I used to make some little

meat balls with part veneson and they were always a hit at Thanksgiving

dinner. Pop them in a little mushroom sauce and - yum yum!!

Here in Oklahoma we have Jack Rabbits. Some of them are really huge and

they are real good if you tenderize them. I suppose they might be nice

and tender when they are very young but they quickly become quite tough.

A good Jack can easily hit 55 MPH and he can get it in a whale of a

hurry...

Yup, it does take a considerable number of Quail to make a fella full.

Phesant is probably a better choice as they are a little larger.

Want something really good? Try Guinea. Scrumptious and large enough to

fill one's tummy.

I agree with Turtle soup, it is very, very good.

Now that we have either made the list hungry or ill I will close and

raid the frig...

boy aint that the truth! it isn't the food, it is how you prepare it! I could

eat a hotdog each day with mustard on it and in 5 days its old hat. my wife

could cut up the hot dog and scramble it with eggs, maybe make a chili dog, toss

some relish on it, and so on. I don't eat a lot of hot dogs, but, your point is

extremely valid and very good advice... it is all in how you prepare the same

old foods!

I ate rattlesnake one-deep fried. Yes, it tastes like chicken. When I did

this was when we went to Atlanta for a JC convention and they were handing

out bourbon and peach daqueris as samples!. (PS excuse the spelling of that

drink; I have forgotten how to spell it!)

Re: meat for dinner

I forgot about gator meat. It is okay, but it taste too much like fish, so

I avoid eating alligator whenever.

Well Pat, tell you what, I have tried to spell daiquir I but can't get

close enough for the spell checker to help.

The name we finally came up with does not look quite right but, oh well!

Anyway, what I was trying to say is that if you consume enough Bourbon

and daiquiris you can eat anything.

Snails, chocolate covered ants, fried grasshoppers, crawdads, opossums

and whatever else one can imagine.

One of my son-in-laws is from Louisiana and loves Cajun cooking. He was

going to prepare some sort of goo for us and needed some Crayfish or

shrimp.

I suggested that he go out to the drainage ditch and catch crawdads.

Well, they look the same to me?

Hi Pat,

I am reading my email in sort of a random pattern thanks to XP

Anyway, No, the Jack Rabbits are large enough thank you..

Honestly I have not seen a Jack in many years and do not remember how

much they weigh but they are pretty substantial, especially if you

happen to hit one with your car.

Ever try Armadillo?Oklahoma now has an infestation of them. They have

been sent up from texas.

Re: meat for dinner

There are lots of Ostrich farms in Georgia, and you can get it at some

of

the more expensive restaurants. I also like veneson, but very few

people

know how to prepare deer meat. Quail is delicious, but it takes a lot

of

them to fill the tummy. Squirrel is okay, but I do not like its

resemblence

to a fuzzy tail rat. I also love turtle, too. I have also eaten dried

locust, but it taste too much like eating raw grass or hay, but it is

hard

to beat chocolate ants.
