Guest guest
My family loved Bob's Red Mill Brownies...until we tried Pamela's! They have chunks of chocolate in them, and they rock! Unfortunately, both of them give me hives and other very unpleasant allergy symptoms--boo hoo! Having skin tests done tomorrow. Please pray to the sugar gods that I am not among the very few with a genuine chocolate allergy. GF and chocolate-free? Oh, the injustice of it all! Guest guest
Hi, all, We've been Pamela's brownies fans for a long time. BUT, I bought a bag of the Gluten Free Pantry's Chocolate Truffle Brownie Mix and whipped up a batch, and they were the most phenomenal brownies we have EVER had, even prior to going GF. Even all the neighborhood kids were oohing an aahing over them, and the whole pan was gone in a heartbeat. These are NOT for the faint of heart, though - they require 4 eggs and 1-1/2 sticks of butter! Always good stuff for my toothpick kids! Guest guest
My mom and I both baked brownies on the same day, and she brought hers to our house the next day. Neither of us knew we did that, so it gave us a good laugh. I baked Bob's Red Mill, she did the Gluten Free Pantry. BOTH are excellent, but I must say if fudgey is your "brownie goal" then go with Bob's Red Mill. I would use either mix in a heartbeat, but those were definitely the more fudgey of the two. -----Original Message-----From: Heidi Parthena White Sent: Tuesday, July 27, 2004 8:15 AMTo: SillyYaks Subject: BrowniesHi, all,We've been Pamela's brownies fans for a long time. Guest guest
I have tried Bob’s Red Mill, Pamela’s and Gluten Free Pantry brownies. I find that Bob’s Red Mill and Pamela’s are a little bitter by themselves, but are good with icing. Since I generally prefer my brownies without icing….I buy Gluten Free Pantry. I was never a big fan of brownies before going GF…but I’m a huge fan now that I’ve had the Gluten Free Pantry. They are a chocolate lover’s delight! There is a recipe on the back for a low-fat version, using yogurt instead of butter and egg whites instead of full eggs. Personally I prefer the fully loaded version.
