Guest guest
Hi Hazel, I guess his patients never reported pain after three weeks because we don't see him for another six months after that. I guess the pains go away and we forgot about them. I didn't want to call him because I don't have much privacy at work. And the pain is only for a second. My stomach is still swollen and numb but not as swollen as before. I think it is mostly my own fat and lack of exercise. I don't remember when I was able to stand up straight without feeling stiff. But I was able to walking slowly to the train and to his office eleven days after surgery. That was the day I walked one mile in Manhattan. I had some staining or bleeding that Monday. It looked like my period because the blood was bright red. I bled more two days later. My period seemed a little early. I had the second period post-op about four weeks after that on a Wednesday. My roommate who was also a patient of Dr. West told me she needed pain medication in the recovery room also. She told me she heard the nurse say " But your Dr. West's patient. He told me that his patients don't have pain. Prior to the surgery I asked him about nausea and vomiting from the anesthesia. He told me very rarely do his patients experience this. I think because your surgery was longer and you had more anesthesia that was the reason for your nausea and vomiting. I stayed on the 9th floor which is the OB/Gyn floor. The nurses were great. My roommate had a myomectomy the day after me so we were able to compare notes. Dr. West dragged me on my feet because he was practicing " tough love " I guess. When he came into the room I was sitting in the chair and he wanted me to go get into bed to check my incision. I was moving very slowly and moaning. Also when he was about to touch my incision I brushed his hand away because I was afraid it would hurt. After that he told me the pain was in my mind and that I needed to get up and start walking briskly. I did this and I felt better. He did tell me I lost some blood which he used a cell saver for but he did not tell me to continue taking the iron. I will ask him about that when I have my post op visit next week. He did not give me a prescription for pain killers. I really don't need them. I have someone preparing my meals and my circle of friends check on me everyday. My mother would have preferred I stayed with her but I wanted to be home. Prior to the surgery I asked him about adhesions and asked him the specific question you emailed to me. Guest guest
sorry. denial of a patient's verbal communications makes the guy a class A Ass. As an aside, I am taking Vitex. One month so far and the first halfway normal period I've had. Also taking Slow Fe, the over the counter iron med. It works! Thank god for your group and the Internet. swan511 wrote: > Hi Donna, > I was awake in the recovery room. I asked the nurse for pain medication > then. Guest guest
sorry. denial of a patient's verbal communications makes the guy a class A Ass.
