Guest guest
Hi Dave. Just know that on the one touch the range of 80 to 120 is actually 70 to 107. I.E 70 is actually a plasma reading of 80 and 107 on the one touch is actually a plasma reading of 120. Shoot for that range on the one touch and you'll be fine. Regards, one touch I have the one touch unit that I am now using for about 12 years. and the acucheck voice mate is about two months old. the only problem with the acucheck is that it won't beep. So you never know if you have enough of blood on the strip or not.And I am not sure it is reporting accurately. Guest guest
yes, the one touch has the ability to speak but you have to purchase a separate speech box for it. I posted the info a few months back for Harry. Harry, do you have that information still? Can you repost? Guest guest
thanks for the info. I use comfort curves on mine. it does beep, but like you said it makes you think that you have enough blood on the strip, and then it tells it has an erro. I like the idea where you put the blood on the strip, and insert it into the monitor. cause that is where my problem is, is getting blood on the strip when the strip is in the monitor. one touch > > > > > > I have the one touch unit that I am now using for about 12 years. > > and the acucheck voice mate is about two months old. the only problem with > the acucheck is that it won't beep. > > So you never know if you have enough of blood on the strip or not.And I am > not sure it is reporting accurately. Guest guest
Well, it does beep, but it is not very loud. Too bad the beep volume can't be adjusted. Dave one touch I have the one touch unit that I am now using for about 12 years. and the acucheck voice mate is about two months old. the only problem with the acucheck is that it won't beep. Guest guest
You can't put the blood on the strip, at least in my present on Accu-check, or it will tell you " remove strip " . Guest guest
Yes, The One touch talks; it uses a lot more blood than he Accu-check. the Acucheck does not use much blood at all. I don't bleed very easily, so that is about the only feature I like about the Accucheck. Re: one touch is the one touch a talking one too? the one I have tells me an error message. one touch > > I have the one touch unit that I am now using for about 12 years. > and the acucheck voice mate is about two months old. the only problem with the acucheck is that it won't beep. > So you never know if you have enough of blood on the strip or not.And I am not sure it is reporting accurately. Guest guest
the one touch doesn't use that much blood any more. it uses half of what it used to since they developed new strips for the unit 8 months ago. Guest guest
that's good to hear. I may call them as I really hate the Accucheck in so many ways! Guest guest
it's amazing! half the blood it needed before so it is cut literally in half and is tiny now. from 10 mm to 5 mm think is the measurement not certain but I do know it was from 10 whatever to 5 whatever. Guest guest
I've got plenty of lancets, I'm looking for another device that the lancets go in. Mine is cracked and doesn't function well. I took it to my local CVS store and they said they didn't have one like it and that I needed to contact the company. one touch > > > > > >> > >> Hi folks what is the difference between the one touch and the > accucheck I > >> need to know fast. > >> Thanks, > >> > >> > >> --Dar > >> --Every Saint has a Past, > >> > >> Every Sinner has a Future > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > >>

Guest guest
Hmm. I did the same thing and my local Walgreen's had one. Maybe you need to try a different store? I don't know where you live, so don't know what is available. Re: one touch I've got plenty of lancets, I'm looking for another device that the lancets go in. Guest guest
Yes, if you contact the company, they will send you replacement. It did happen with me before with the one-touch Ultra. Guest guest
you can call life scan and order their lancet device if not mistaken. the one touch basic is the only one that measures plasma and the profile/basic measures whole blood. In whole blood meters, you just add about 10 points to your reading and that is very close to the plasma reading. Plasma? ya, all modern blood meters measure plasma in the blood to give you your reading. Guest guest
last year they changed their strips. They only need half the blood now and that is basically just a little pin head drop on it now so they compete with all modern strips now. You can talk to life scan about the new strips when you phone them. Regards, one touch Hi folks what is the difference between the one touch and the accucheck I need to know fast. Thanks, --Dar --Every Saint has a Past, Every Sinner has a Future
Guest guest
you do, call life scan and you can get one from them. If recalling, they are expensive though like 30 bucks but don't quote me on it. If you have any one touch meter, they should replace it for free if not mistaken but you have to bein their records.
