I was unsure what this meant as others on the list, and since then I have wondered how they would leave it open. I stumbled across something in a article called " Toward a simpler surgical management of Chiari 1 Malformation in the Pediatric Population. This is just a short part of the article Dura matter is left open and overlain with oxidized cellulose. A small percentage experienced Cererospinal leak but it was very simply treated.
