Guest guest
Janie, thanks for your history you posted. It is interesting to read how each person has progressed. I would love to read other's historys...hint hint I have been feeling like I have been hit by a truck yesterday and today. A bigger truck than normal.....Question for everybody.....how will/do I know if I need adrenal support or not? What are the symptoms? I will talk to the doc tomorrow, but I would like some knowledge before hand. I am not willing to go off of the meds to have testing done. After I picked up all of my testing records from my previous doc, it was intersting to go back and compare dates and how I was feeling. One thing I found really interesting.......six week before my miscarriage my TSH was at 5.something. My levoxyl was increased and when we had the miscarriage, it was at 3.9 and was not adjusted at that time. I felt horrible during that time, could barely move I was so tired and achey. Just couldnt' function basically. I had a partial molar pregnancy. I wondered if that was the reason I felt so bad prior to the m/c, but now that I know my levels, I am sure it was thyroid. My doc apparently did free t4 tests. Where should that level be if everything was optimal? Say prayers or send good thoughts or whatever you do for me tomorrow when I see the doc. I want so bad for this to be the answer and the beginning of " the cure " . Thanks, Kat
Guest guest
It is so VERY worth the effort to figure out what your body needs to heal and deal with a bad or missing thyroid...... the best way to do that, I think, is to observe what you see, or don't see, and the share here with others. For many of my steps I wasn't able to see what was happening, it took sharing my observations with others who could look at them from a different angle to see what needed to be adjusted. Guest guest
Hi Kat!! You know Kat, when I switched to Armour from Levoxyl, I knew nothing about adrenal support. And I did fantastic on Armour without adrenal support or even the knowledge of it. And for some folks, it can be normal to have a lower temp in the early part of the day than the latter part of the day without it being an adrenal issue--especially for females. And the feeling like you've been hit by a truck could be that you are not on enough thyroid hormone, or have an inadequate T3. Yes, it could be adrenal, but it may not. So it's a hard call. And I wouldn't get off meds either to find out!! As far as the free T4 test you asked about, it's not a good indication of how you are doing overall!! You really need a free T3, NOT just a free T4, to know what you need to know. If it was me, I'd first do what it it takes to get off of Levoxyl and onto Armour, and then find out what other supports you need, if any. Grin. And it IS the beginning of a " cure " , as you call it!! You WILL find it!! I did, and you will, too. Hope that all helps!!
