Guest guest
Hi everyone, Does anyone in Australia know the carbohydrate levels in Epilim (syrup or tabs), we are considering changing ' meds from tegretol to epilim because the tegretol makes his myoclonic seizures worse. Guest guest
Jeni I just looked up my MIMS and found the following.... Epilim syrup - sodium valproate - sucrose 40mg/ml - saccharin, hydroxybenzoates - red, cherry flavoured - gluten free Epilim sugar free liquid - the same as above but no sucrose Tablets usually have less carbs to worry about than syrups, as a general rule. The book didnt list anything in the tabs except the sodium valproate (of course). Reckitt and , the manufacturer, may be able to help with consumer info. or better still, someone on this list will have a direct answer for you. Just thought I'd send this off in case you had no replies. Research the epilim really well. Many of the members here have had dreadful experiences with it and with weaning it, especially in conjunction with the keto diet. It is also called Depakote in some countries, so read whatever you see about that too. Hannah used Epilim as a tiny baby but it sedated her far too much so we changed to Lamictal (drug no.5) Fortunately we didnt have any dramas, but we were one of the lucky ones I think. ----- Original Message ----- > Does anyone in Australia know the carbohydrate levels in Epilim (syrup or > tabs), we are considering changing ' meds from tegretol to epilim > because the tegretol makes his myoclonic seizures worse.
