Guest guest
I use instant hazelnut flavored coffe for the espresso powder. For the WW crumbs, I sometimes just use WW flour or I toast some WW bread, then put it in the food processor to make crumbs. Espresso Powder, Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs Hi everyone, 2 Questions: What is espresso powder, which is called for in one of the ricotta crème recipes? Is it the same thing as instant espresso (for $4.89!?)? 2nd, where can you find whole wheat bread crumbs? This seems to be an important ingredient in the recipe from yesterday’s daily dish for the South Beach “Fried Chicken”. I could not find it in my local supermarket ( Teeter). They had everything else whole wheat; just not bread crumbs. Any ideas for a substitution in case I cannot find? (I guess that was 3 questions.). Thank you. Guest guest
---Dont know about where you live BUT here in Canada I've never seen WW bread crumbs for sale. I imagine you can just buy a loaf of " legal SB " bread and make your own. As for the expresso yeah its expensive here too but you can use instant coffee. I did when I made the Mocha Ricotta and it worked just fine.. It didn't seem to matter cause I threw it all in a blender anyway!! In South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It-Right , " Seidler, M. Guest guest
I frequently broil lean chops, chicken breasts, etc. To keep the moisture in and flavor them I often add flavoring salt to about a quarter cup of wheat bran and coat them with this mix. Seems to work just fine and I figure the little bit of bran can't hurt. Deanne - this is dynamite if you use Montreal Smoked Meat flavoring on chicken breasts. > For the WW crumbs, I sometimes just use WW flour or I toast some WW bread, then put it in the food processor to make crumbs. You take the whole wheat bread that we are allowed and toast a couple of pieces until they are bone dry. Put the toast in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Or put the toast in your food processor and whiz until it is crumbs. -- Ann You spend your life fighting dirt, and when you die they bury you in it. hayakawa@... Guest guest
, Toast some whole grain bread and whirl it in the blender to make crumbs. Yes, instant espresso is the same as espresso powder. Can't help you with the $4.89, though :-)! in Atlanta ----- Original Message ----- Hi everyone, 2 Questions: What is espresso powder, which is called for in one of the ricotta crème recipes?
