In your search for a myomectomy expert you may want to check out the

Society of Reproductive Surgeons at: www.reprodsurgery.org/

When you get to that site you can select the (Find a Reproductive Surgeon in

your Area)

This should give you a start it took me awhile to locate this site and I go

to see one of the doctors who is a member next week!

Hope this helps!

Patty

This is a good place to start, but not every good doctor is listed

there and not every doctor listed there is good. You still have to

check with the Board of Health and other agencies and also ask people

for recommendations.

There is one doctor listed under New York State, and another doctor

listed under California who are being sued in Georgia. They also

retracted published articles which is a serious thing. Unless you

know the doctors' history, you would never check with Georgia. New

York State or California would not tell you if anything is wrong in

Georgia. Even if you did check with Georgia, the agency there might

not even tell you that the doctor has a lawsuit pending. All they

might tell you is whether the doctor is licensed or not licensed.

A few weeks ago in New Jersey, there was news about a doctor

practicing in New Jersey who had killed someone and served time for

it in another state. But nobody in New Jersey knew until the doctor

got in trouble in New Jersey.

Please do use the list to find doctors. Go to the bookstore and

compare the names from the list with the names in the book,

" How to Find the Best Doctors: Florida "

by J. Connolly, Gainer (Paperback - March 2000)

Good luck,

Donna Jung, 46, New York Metro

I went to Amazon to look for the book and I read the customer's reviews and

one of them went to one of the doctors in the book and she wasnt happy with

her. Here is the link so you guys can read it yourselves. There must be

other way to find all about a doctor and about how pleased are his/her

patients.

Speaking of references...Is anyone familiar with Dr. Selick. She is an RE

and operates out of NYU Medical Center. I have a Myomectomy scheduled with

her in March 29th and wanted to know of any experiences with her--good or bad.

Thanks.

I saw the title at Amazon. That's why I mentioned it.

When I was researching doctors last year, I saw Dr. West's name in

last year's New York Metro edition. But when I looked in this year's

edition, I did not see his name in it.

When I consulted with Dr. West, he said he can give me names of

thousands of women for references.

I guess we can ask for references when we consult with a new doctor.

Hi Donna,

Thank God it is a small world--thanks to the internet! That way references

and word of mouth (good or bad) travels very fast.

Sorry to hear about your experience with Dr. Seigal (I believe that's

Selick's sister). Sounds like the sisters have something in common...I

wouldn't say Dr. Selick is insensity, I just think she's the direct no

nonsense type. I usually feel more comfortable with that types. Donna, did

you have surgery with Dr. Seigel? How was that experience? Anyone else have

any experience with Dr. Caryn Selick?

Thanks,

Winnie.

That's a Reproductive Endocrinologist...A GYN that specialize in infertility

matters. I would recommend anyone looking for fibroid options who still want

to have children see an RE.
