Interesting! I did " Home Care " with a few VNAs in Camden NJ about 15

years ago! Some of the most memorable work experiences of my life! (Not all

so good, mind you, just memorable.)

When I worked in Camden, it had the highest murder rate in America. (I'm

tough- NOT city smart, have a concealed carry permit and my two large dogs

rode along with me most days.) I'm hoping with the changes and Aquarium in

the past 12 years, it's getting better. Mostly bombed out, burned out, drug

infested ghetto 15-20 years ago. Most RDs I knew were too scared to

venture off the main freeway.

BUT, for the RD that wants to make a difference and loves a challenge, what

a nice opportunity! (I also got a tour of the s Plant in Camden

and learned that Godiva Chocolates were made there!)

My Note: I wonder what this woman's medical background is? This would be a

great post for a business minded RD...just thinking!!!

Tuesday it created a job focused on reducing childhood obesity and

related issues.

*Kim Fremont Fortunato*, the company’s new director of the childhood

obesity-and-hunger program, will lead a multiyear plan focused on the city

of Camden, N.J., where ’s (NYSE:CPB) has been based since 1869.

She will work with government officials, nonprofit partners and the medical

community. She will also work with the Soup Foundation and

colleagues to align the program with ’s overall corporate social

responsibility, community affairs and employee volunteerism.

Fortunato most recently served as president of the nonprofit Operation Warm

Inc., a Chadds Ford, Pa.-based organization that provides winter coats to

children in need. She began her career as a lawyer.
