Guest guest
Hi all - I am 28 years old and spent last Saturday night in the emergency room with my first episode of a-fib. Took six hours to convert. I saw a cardiologist yesterday and she prescribed flecainide (tambocor). I have suffered from daily palpitations for the last 5-7 years and she said that this medication will relieve my palps and prevent another episode of a-fib. I also read that flecainide has some substantial side effects. Is there anyone out there around my age that has taken flecainide? Did you have side effects? Is this a normal treatment for a-fib? Does anyone know if my palps were an early indication of a-fib? My cardiologist says no. I have had all of the tests...echocardiogram, stress test, etc. and did not have any underlying heart disease. Please help. Thanks.
