Guest guest
I once saw an article that I am sure I post some time ago, that said Amiodarone was designed by the devil to combat this condition.. I cant remember the exact wording. ... I would not have posted any these mail a few years ago because we must remember that we still have patients on this drug and this may be alarming for them At that time there was no other drugs around that a Patient could use and we only had the Maze. Now with the PVI and the Linear ablation coming down the road, also new drugs like Dofetilide and Azimalide then serious consideration's should be taken on board with view of more modern treatments.. I have occasional episodes but have always converted on my own in less than 24 hrs. It also seems to lessen the severity of the symptoms. I would certainly like to find a less toxic drug. I plan to speak with my cardiologist about dofetilide during my next visit but don't like the idea of 3 days in a hospital to set the dosage. Also, and it may seem silly, dofetilide would not be covered by my prescription drug plan because it is through my employer's internally owned pharmacy and I understand only the manufacturer and maybe one other pharmacy can distribute it.
