Hello all -

I am new to the group. My name is Jenn and I found this group a couple of ways - through the IE website and had seen it mentioned on PeerTrainer.com of which I am also a member. PeerTrainer is where I first heard of the book which I read a month or two ago. I have decided to go ahead and adopt the lifestyle of Intuitive Eating (if it were only that easy!) and was looking for a little bit of support in the process. Right now I am trying very hard to only eat when hungry since I seem to be the Unconscious Emotional Eater. I'm also struggling with stopping when full, so those are my two main goals at the moment. It's also hard to just " turn off " the diet mentality.

Let's see, a little about me... I'm 27, married, and live in the Midwest. I have had success using Weight Watchers in the past but I can't/don't want to count points for the rest of my life and WW didn't do anything to help me attain a healthy relationship with food. I've gained about 5 pounds since stopping counting points (original goal was to lose 35 more pounds) and adopting the IE method which is frustrating, but I'm trying not to let that bother me (especially since I'm not supposed to be weighing myself). Weight loss will come (hopefully), naturally, but the most important thing is my health - mental and physical.

Okay, hopefully that's enough of an introduction. I look forward to talking to you all and any and all tips are certainly welcome - especially with how to stop when I'm full but I still want to eat.

Jenn T
