Guest guest
Barb, I'm glad to hear that things have calmed down for Ken! Watching your kids suffer is one of the hardest thing a mother has to endure. I don't know what "banding" is so if you (or someone else in the group) has the time to explain it to me I would appreciate it. Take care of yourself, Ken, and the dog from hell. Guest guest
Dear Barb so sorry to hear Ken is having a rough go. It must be hell on your nerves too. Try and take a breathier you won't any good to any one if you fall apart. Sorry I live to far away but I would love to take the dog I need a playmate for mine he is very old and we would like him to train a replacement dog. Both of you will be in my prayers. Guest guest
Hey Barb.... I must have missed some of the emails...did not know that Ken was going in for a banding... Sounds like a not very nice experience.... With the mail being so messed up I am not sure when he had this...was it monday...so that would mean he might still be in the hosp...Taking a lot of guesses here.... It is very hard to see your son like this....it is heart breaking...but also very annoying....because we are used to be in charge of our childrens lives...always seem to make them feel somewhat better....BUT...when they are screaming in pain...in hurts us to the core....and then we get mad .....and then WATCH OUT ..... When was 18 he was really sick and in the hosp....He went for some testing...sent next door...he was really sick...and just having him get in a wheel chair and wait to go in for the test was murder....I was not allowed in...It sounded to me at the time that he was having an endoscopy....but he had had them before at CHOP and wasn't sure why they were sending him next door for the test...just figured it was because he was older.....now that I know more and think about what he told me....I think he had an ERCP....he came out of the test...back in wheel chair and taken back to Chop....he was a mess...never saw him so bad...he had lost alot of weight...and he looked so beaten...broke my heart...and scared me....I sat by him and rubbed his arm and hands for hours...even though he was out of it...but would moan in his sleep... ......and of course been there done that with Ty....so I am hugging you right now....tight...feel it.... I know that is what I need in those times.... I hope that by now Ken is feeling alot better...poor guy...do you know how long he will be in there.... and as for the dog from hell....no thanks...sorry....not sure if my old cats could tolerate a puppy ...they put up with Brittany...the boxer...but she is 8...not that that has slowed her down...but they are used to her....the cats are ...2 of them are 18 yrs old...and one of them is totally deaf....poor thing... well enough.... Hope to hear that things are getting better.... hope you get this in some timely fashion since the mail has been a bit screwed up lately... Guest guest
Barb so sorry Ken had to go through that and that you had to do that. Good thing for Ken he had you to act for him. Sometimes it takes a little force and you and I are good at that.:-) But afterwards it is draining. I'm sure you'll do great when it comes time for transplant and I'm glad they got those things banded so he didn't have a bleed. You just keep on yelling in his defense. You can do it MOM. Guest guest
Barb, how horrible for both of you...you know it doesn't matter how old they are it's still hard to watch your kids in any kind of distress or pain and not be able to ease that.... I know when Sara was having Spencer, she would just squeeze my hand and say " mom " , I knew her pain, but couldn't help other than being there.... I hope he's feeling better today.....you know I don't know anything about a blue heeler but I could probably challenge him with my shih tzu (or as Mike says shit zu), from hell... take care Patti > >Reply-To: >To: " Psc-SupportYahoogroups (DOT) Com " < > >Subject: KEN'S BANDING YESTERDAY >Date: Tue, 5 Mar 2002 09:56:30 -0600 > >We got to the hospital at 9am and didn't leave >till 5pm. Guest guest
Barb, that was so horrible what your son went through. I know your feeling of helplessness. It's tough when a loved one is in pain and you can't do anything about it. You did help him by getting them to get the Dr in there. I'm sure you will do fine when it's transplant time. WE don't realize what we are capable of doing until we are in a situation. I hope he is feeling better. Take care,
