Guest guest
Hi Dory, I have seen you posting on here the last few days. Welcome to the best group!!! I don't know what I would do without my Lupies friends!!! I joined in June and am still undiagnosed. I am 48, female, with 7 kids and 1 hubby. I live in Texas where it never snows, oops , I wasn't suppose to say "s" word because that's a bad word around here!! LOL There are several in our group that are not ready to give up their shorts for the winter!! LOL Anyway, welcome and thank you for writing. Yes, my doc experience yesterday was a little frustrating, to put it mildly. This seems to be the norm for many of us, unfortunately. Take care, Donna Doctors!!!!!Hi All,I went to my GI doc yesterday for all the bloating I have since my herniasurgery. Of course, I hadn't eaten all day, so there wasn't much bloating. Iask if this can be because of my surgery...he says maybe or maybe not, he'sjust not sure. Instead of putting me on the exam table and doing any kind ofexam, he stands above me while I am sitting in a chair and just kind ofmashes around on my stomach for 2 seconds!!!Then I tell him I am still taking nexium and phenegren every day like I havefor the past few months because I stay nauseated. He says I should just keepdoing that because he doesn't know what is causing the nausea, it's probablyjust the way I am. Grrrrr........Then, I tell him I am seeing my rheumy on Friday and since I have gastritisand it flares up if I take NSAIDS, I ask if there is any meds for pain thathe know would not make my gastritis flare up. I have been having horribletail bone pain since March. He says, "Well, just about anything you takewill probably make it worse, so I guess your rheumy will just have to usetrial and error to find something that will work."I tell him I had recently gotten a letter from having a life insurance examand the letter stated my liver enzymes were elevated. I tell him this andask if I should be concerned and he says,"We checked your liver enzymes backin December of 2001 and they were fine so I don't think we need to checkthem again." GRRRRR! I remind him of the CT scan I had at that time thatshowed an enlarged liver, he says, "Well, You don't seem to be having anypain around your liver, so I wouldn't worry about it."This doc visit wasn't the end of the world, it's just annoying. When Isigned in there were 4 other people on the list that had appts. with him atthe very same time I did. I just feel like one of the cows in the herd.Well, I just had to gripe!!!Thanks for listening, Donna"The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!" Guest guest
This is no excuse for being treated bad by a dr. But my dad's dr told him that in order for him to break even with the insurance companies, he has to see 4 patients an hour. That gives him 15 minutes per patient. So if the man wants to make money, he needs to see alot more than 4 an hour. And guess who loses out?? http://community.webtv.net/sandra504/Serenity
