Guest guest
Can anyone recommend a good GFCF sandwich bread.I just bought some from whole foods and I have to say....it is pretty nasty. This is really going to take some getting use to.My 4 1/2 year old son is not very fond of it and he does go to prek which means packing a lunch. Sandwiches are vital at this age! Thanks for ALL of your input and advice on my previously postedtopics. I genuinely appreciate it! I am sort of obsessed now with findingout as much as possible. Most breads taste bad unless they are toasted. If you can find a gluten free "fresh" bread, like at a bakery, they taste really good. Nutrition S'Mart used to carry some that were shipped in from somewhere like Melbourne, but there wasn't enough demand so they stopped carrying it. Does anyone know of a gluten free bakery in broward? RobinSee AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter.

Guest guest
My sons have been on the diet since age 2. One of them likes the Energy High Fiber Bread but you really do need to toast the bread if you want it to taste O.K. The Cybros Rice Rolls are pretty good too. I get both at Tunies. My other son eats hot dogs and fries at school as well as chicken nuggets which I buy or make (Special Diets for Special Kids book has great recipes). My son also eats rice or pasta for lunch. I pack in in containers (thermos). My sons are now almost 11 and have been on the diet for 9 years (very strictly). If you can get your son to eat Rice Cakes, you can put peanut butter and jelly on that. Also grilled cheese isn't bad on some of the breads. It takes time to try different foods until you see what they like and it can get very costly. -------------- Original message -------------- Can anyone recommend a good GFCF sandwich bread.I just bought some from whole foods and I have to say....it is pretty nasty. Guest guest
My son likes the Ener-g tapioca bread we buy from Nutrition S'mart: http://www.ener-g.com/store/detail.aspx?section=2 & cat=2 & id=1014 I toast it for him and it tastes much better that way. Good luck. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
Guest guest
You can try ordering it online at kimikimick.com, they make it fresh and send it overnight, I have to say that from all the others brands I try, this one is the most eatable !!!! > > Can anyone recommend a good GFCF sandwich bread. > I just bought some from whole foods and I have to say.... > it is pretty nasty. Guest guest
Try also the fresh(not frozen section!)of Dr. Schar's. They have white bread and what they consider "whole grain". Also, Whole Foods has a section of their own brand of fresh baked bread and corn bread(as well as ckaes/cookies) that look good to the eye(Those I have not tasted) To: sList From: amazonapr2000@...Date: Tue, 11 Dec 2007 07:58:03 -0800Subject: Re:GFCF Breads.....yuk! We just discovered the Ener-G Corn Loaf. It looks like regular white bread, and is not 'rock hard' like others we've tried. They have other varieties: (tapioca, brown rice, egg-free raisin), but I just discovered them this weekend at Nutrition Smart, and my first choice to try was the corn loaf. My son LOVED it and keeps asking for more! You can also find them online at www.glutenfree.com Hope this helps! ~Ive "We can't form our children on our own concepts. Guest guest
Beware of Whole Foods Gluten Free products that are their own brand. Most contain casein. The only cake that I found that didn't list casein was Carrot Cake, but be careful they are not GFCF only GF. --------- Re:GFCF Breads.....yuk! We just discovered the Ener-G Corn Loaf. Guest guest
you can purchase kinnikinick brand foods at Nutrition smart, they keep the bread in the freezer section. You can also try energy brand breads that are light, they tend to be less dense and the texture tends to be better tolerated than the regular types of energy breads.
