Guest guest
-- Your idea of IE and mine align perfectly. When I first did IE I LOST weight. I started in April and by my 40th birthday in August I'd lost 20 lbs. The first 12 lbs came off fairly quickly, within the first month. Then the other 8 lbs took the rest of the time. It is my belief that the reason people gain weight at the beginning is because they listen to the " eat whatever you want " part and not so much to the " only when hungry and stop when satisfied " part. I've said this before...when I first started doing this it was with the Weigh Down diet. It is very difficult for people new to the idea to figure out when they are hungry and, especially, when they are satisfied. WD suggests that you cut your food in half to start. You can always adjust up or down as you go. For people who are struggling with how much to eat, perhaps cutting your food in half will work for you. You can eat again if you get hungry in a short amount of time. IE is not just about eating what you want, it's doing it between the boundaries of hunger and satiety also. That is the more important part, in my opinion. Cheryl
