Hi everyone,

I went to the neuro today to have a SSEP & EMG.

I don't know how the SSEP turned out but I do have some info on the EMG.

First though, when the neuro started the EMG,he asked me why I was there. I

told him that I'd been diagnosed with ACM & told him about my aches & pains.

He'd never heard the term ACM. Hum, what does that say? Then he said he had

some Chiari patients in the past - that it usually doesn't affect a person

much. Right?

Anyway, when he did the EMG, he asked if I'd ever broken my rt. shoulder or

dislocated it. No. Was I sure? Yes. He said I had damage in one of the

nerve roots coming through the shoulder. Said it would be up to my PCP to

figure out where it came from. My left arm was okay.

It's interesting, I have pain, numbness and tingling in both arms. The pain

is worse in the left arm, the numbness and tingling worse in the right arm.

Neuro didn't know how I got the nerve damage, but didn't think it was due to

Chiari. I feel the pain from the back of my head down to my fingers, but it

not coming form my neck?

Anyone had any similar problems?

Tomorrow I go back to my PCP. Last week I saked him for a CINE MRI, but at

that point he said the insurance wouldn't approve it. Hopefully now they

will. Such a long process.

However, today is one of my better days in a long time. So I'll enjoy today

and let tomorrow take care of itself.

Any comment would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Margie
