Guest guest
we see progress with each round of chealtion with Andy's protocal. We now do 16 mg ALA and 7.5 mg DMPS every 3 hours round the clock and like it best. We never did the 8 hour and high dose route. Guest guest
We are currently on our third round of chelation for our 3 1/2 yr old son, using 100 mg of DMSA and ALA. We have been following the DAN 8 hr protocol 3 days on 11 days off...my son is pretty high-functioning, and while he has seemed to make " some " improvements while chelating, his echolalia seems to have worsened...incessant talking, can not sit still, and eye contact seems to have worsened. He also seems to have more OCD type behaviors. During his " on " days he seems a little " clearer " , but is very easily agitated and harder to deal with. I have Andy's book, but have given it to our dr. who said he found it " very interesting " and I think he would be willing to switch protocols. (only relevence here is I don't have my book in front of me) My question is this...are these normal symptoms of chelating or are we seeing a " regression " , and is 3 rounds enough time to even evaluate progress/regression. I guess after reading Andy's stuff I am concerned that we need to switch over to his protocol to " fix " what is happening if we are indeed dosing wrong and we are causing some type of damage. If so, can we do this immediately or should we wait until his body recovers a few days from this last round? (ended Thursday) Hope this made sense and any input is greatly appreciated! Guest guest
, Maybe someone else can comment on this further but 100mg dmsa seems to be a pretty high dose for a 3 yr. old. (my opinion) I would try to get a hold of Andy's book and maybe change protocols. Also, what supplements are you giving.? Guest guest
Thanks , I am thinking this is too high a dose as well and we were actually to increase to 150 mg DMSA on the second round, but I didn't feel comfortable with that. He is about 38 lbs. We are supplementing with Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Selenium, B6, Taurine, Glutathione with each dose of DMSA (3x a day). In addition we are using the Houston Enzymes with meals, GSE and loads of pro-biotics. On the off days we are doind amino acids, Toueff, DNZ (dame), B-complex, Kirkmans everyday multi-vitamin, enzymes, GSE, and Flaxseed. Does this look right as far as supplements go? Should we be giving ALL supplements all the time, even while chelating? Thanks, andya69 wrote: > , > Maybe someone else can comment on this further but 100mg dmsa seems > to be a pretty high dose for a 3 yr. old. Hullo , I think you should wait after last round regardless of what schedule was used for last round. Your results sound " mixed " which is not great-- I think trying the 4 hour dosing makes sense, and you can see if it helps or not. Also note that the 100 mg SOUNDS very high dose to me, but I do not know how much your son weighs. Anyway, this is something you could also consider. best wishes, Moria

If you need Andy's recommendations for amounts, to compare, you can find this info here: /files/Andy_dose_sched We are supplementing with >Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Selenium, B6, Taurine, Glutathione with each dose >of DMSA (3x a day). There are lots I have no opinion on or sound okay. The gluathione is questionable=== if your child is " high sulfur " this may be " bad " for him. If low sulfur then I think it is okay. You can read about sulfur status and how it relates to glutathione if you wish at /files/ANDY_INDEX See section about sulfur and thiols and NAC etc. Moria
Guest guest
Hi. I use Andy's protocol. My son has experienced some of what you describe but as we continue on with chelation, he is less and less obsessive. However, he was never worse after chelation, the behavior just didn't get resolved. It took awhile for this to happen (one year) so be ready for a long ride. I recommend that you do the more frequent dosing if your child is exhibiting these behaviors. Use Andy's protocol. It is working really well for us. Maximum dose of each in milligrams is half his body weight in pounds. > Hope this made sense and any input is greatly appreciated! >
Guest guest
Andy and all, Thanks so much for the responses to my post. Ds actually broke out in a rash late yesterday, little tiny red bumps everywhere and had horrendous (understatement) foul smelling gas. This morning, however he woke up and said " did you sleep good mommy, I sure did? " (never heard this before) He seems extremely " clear " this morning....very strange (GREAT)...so maybe we were just coming off a really productice cycle, I don't know.... still on the fence, but definitely want to discuss Andy's protocol further with our dr.! (I did review and learned 100-200 mg DMSA is right on target with my son's weight...according to the DAN protocol...sheesh, does still seem so high!) Thanks again for all of your invaluable help to our family! Happy Mother's Day List-Moms! andrewhallcutler wrote: > > > We are currently on our third round of chelation for our 3 1/2 yr > old > > son, using 100 mg of DMSA and ALA.
