So, any advice on what to expect from the whole Coumadin experience would be

> appreciated.

Hi, , Ive been on coumadin for several years, and probably will be on it

for life. I started with 5 mg, for the first 5 days, and then was reduced to 4

mg after my first INR check. The thing to remember most, is that everyone is

different, and so is their diet. The diet is important in that it should be

consistant, and about the same each day. You can eat most anything that you

want to , but be consistant. Those things high in vitimin K, I usually stay

away from, but still go for a big salad at my favortie restaurant at least twice

a month, and it does not seem to change my INR that much. Just try to keep

consistanat, and maybe limit the items high in vitimin K until you get your INR

stabilized. Please ask any questions that you want to, Im usually pretty close
