Guest guest
To those of you on Lupron, what sorts of side effects did you experience and how long were you on it. Did you end up going on to other interventions such as myomectomy, UAE, or hysterectomy? --candace
Guest guest
> How long does it take for lupron to start working? I had a shot 1 > week ago, and feel nothing. When it does start to work will this help keep me from bleeding? Thanks, Pam>> Hi Pam, I had my first Lupron shot on December 28th. The literature that came with it said that it existing symptoms (i.e. fibroid symptoms) will continue (or increase) for about 2 weeks. About a week after my first Lupron shot, I had a light period. I expect it was light because I had just had a period 2 weeks before that. After about 2 weeks, I started feeling much better. My chronic lower belly ache and general feeling of fatigue subsided. I did start having hot flashes and insomnia, but when I had my gyno check up before I got my second shot, she prescribed me HRT to take care of those and that seems to be working, as well. She didn't do a pelvic exam because she said that the fibroid probably hasn't shrunk enough in the month since the first shot to be manually noticable. There are some woman who have bled quite a bit during the first month on Lupron, but I think that just depends on each individuals physiology. Hope this helps :-) Lynda Michigan Scheduled for myomectomy: 3/19/

Guest guest
I am trying to find out if the body uses soy as estrogen and have seen some contradicting material. I added soy to my diet and any perimenopausal (I'm 45) symptoms disappeared. However my fibroid grew rapidly and I'm wondering if the say had anything to do with it. My doctor found adenomyosis when I had a myo and wants to put me on Lupron to shrink it. If I do go that route I'm wondering if I cansstill have soy products. Thanks. H Re: Lupron I have been on Lupron for 2 months (going for my 3rd shot today). I have had none of the side effects that many women have on Lupron. Either I am lucky or am coincidentally doing something to help with the side-effects. I do at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity every day as well as weight training 3 times a week. I have heard that exercise helps with hot flashes so maybe this is helping. Also, I drink 2 cups of soy milk a day and sometimes eat other soy products during the day (food, not supplements). Many menopausal women incorporate soy as a natural way of dealing with hot flashes, this may be helping me as well. (I am also upping my calcium intake to 1500 mg a day--the recommended dose for post-menopausal women, due to bone loss. My feeling is none of these things can hurt, and maybe they are helping. That's very nice of you to get involved in the whole life of your client like that--what a lucky client you have. Sydney At 08:32 PM 4/11/2001 +0000, you wrote: >Hi I am new to the group.
