To those of you on Lupron, what sorts of side effects did you experience and

how long were you on it. Did you end up going on to other interventions such

as myomectomy, UAE, or hysterectomy? --candace

You won't feel anything ! I did have 1 period which was bad after the

1st shot because the fool was so in a hurry to make money - he didn't

even give it to me at the proper time of my cycle so it didn't work

untitled 2nd one - After I did research and adjusted the appointment to

the right time of my cycle. For clarity this was a hyst. butcher that I

just used to stop the excessive bleeding. While I research this site and

many medsites trying to find a decent doctor and a decent procedure.

When you will know its working you will have flushes bad run outside to

cool off flushes - soak yo night gown flushes- Some people have other

symptoms I did not I was so happy the bleeding stopped didn't

care!!!!!!!!!

About Lupron,

I was diagnosed with light endometriosis 4 years ago, and my doctor

at that time suggested 2 shots of Lupron 3,75mg (1 per 2 months). I

had symptoms like painful cramps and heavy bleeding during my

periods, and painful intercourse. The results amazing: all the

symptoms were gone in a few months after. Of course, a 400$/injection

is quite high, but it's worth it.

I am now back on the same Lupron since October in order to diminish a

fibroid and ensure better chances in an eventual myomectomy. Already,

the fibroid has diminish from a 13 inch to an 8 inch, and probably

less today.

The only thing: my doctor did not prescribe any calcium or iron

supplements. Knowing that Lupron reproduces the effect of menopause,

I am wondering if a particular attention should not be paid to this

issue.

Good luck

I am trying to find out if the body uses soy as estrogen and have seen some

contradicting material. I added soy to my diet and any perimenopausal (I'm

45)

symptoms disappeared. However my fibroid grew rapidly and I'm wondering if the

say had anything to do with it. My doctor found adenomyosis when I had a myo

and wants to put me on Lupron to shrink it. If I do go that route I'm wondering

if I cansstill have soy products. Thanks. H

Re: Lupron

I have been on Lupron for 2 months (going for my 3rd shot today). I have

had none of the side effects that many women have on Lupron. Either I am

lucky or am coincidentally doing something to help with the

side-effects. I do at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity every day as

well as weight training 3 times a week. I have heard that exercise helps

with hot flashes so maybe this is helping. Also, I drink 2 cups of soy

milk a day and sometimes eat other soy products during the day (food, not

supplements). Many menopausal women incorporate soy as a natural way of

dealing with hot flashes, this may be helping me as well. (I am also

upping my calcium intake to 1500 mg a day--the recommended dose for

post-menopausal women, due to bone loss.

My feeling is none of these things can hurt, and maybe they are helping.

That's very nice of you to get involved in the whole life of your client

like that--what a lucky client you have.
