To those of you on Lupron, what sorts of side effects did you experience and

how long were you on it. Did you end up going on to other interventions such

as myomectomy, UAE, or hysterectomy? --candace

  • 1 month later...

You won't feel anything ! I did have 1 period which was bad after the

1st shot because the fool was so in a hurry to make money - he didn't

even give it to me at the proper time of my cycle so it didn't work

untitled 2nd one - After I did research and adjusted the appointment to

the right time of my cycle. For clarity this was a hyst. butcher that I

just used to stop the excessive bleeding. While I research this site and

many medsites trying to find a decent doctor and a decent procedure.

When you will know its working you will have flushes bad run outside to

cool off flushes - soak yo night gown flushes- Some people have other

symptoms I did not I was so happy the bleeding stopped didn't

care!!!!!!!!!

Hi Pam,

I had my first Lupron shot on December 28th. The literature that

came with it said that it existing symptoms (i.e. fibroid symptoms)

will continue (or increase) for about 2 weeks. About a week after my

first Lupron shot, I had a light period. I expect it was light

because I had just had a period 2 weeks before that. After about 2

weeks, I started feeling much better. My chronic lower belly ache

and general feeling of fatigue subsided. I did start having hot

flashes and insomnia, but when I had my gyno check up before I got my

second shot, she prescribed me HRT to take care of those and that

seems to be working, as well. She didn't do a pelvic exam because

she said that the fibroid probably hasn't shrunk enough in the month

since the first shot to be manually noticable. There are some woman

who have bled quite a bit during the first month on Lupron, but I

think that just depends on each individuals physiology.

Hope this helps :-)
