Guest guest
Another thing I should mention that I thought was unusual - a couple of months ago we tried a little flax oil in Lucas' tube feeding recipe (it was MCT, Ross Carb Free formula, Microlipid, a little flax, and water). Adding the flax seemed to cause him to have more seizures - he clustered more and more the longer he got the flax, and when we upped it a little more & lowered the MCT a little to keep things right ratio-wise, he went nuts with seizures. We ended up hospitalized and went back to just the plain ol' RCF, microlipid, water recipe again, and that solved the problem. Has anyone heard of flax oil CAUSING seizures - but not because of too high ketones? It definitely wasn't that his ketones were too high (that was Sevi's problem with it, right, Nan?). I also seem to remember that Rohan can't tolerate flax either, but because of yawning & tiredness, not seizures, right Saro? How unusual is that? I am wondering about giving it another try to make sure, but we're in the middle of so many changes right now that I can't rationalize it at this time. So now we have several things that we know he can't tolerate: flax, fosphenytoin, phenytoin, and lamictal. Strange? Any thoughts on this?
