Based on research that links receiving any type of life-changing news to the need for a period of adjustment, which may include grieving, this is a great way to work through questions, fears, and feelings about raising a child with any type of disability. Parents will develop a Family “IEP” or “Individual Empowerment Plan”, including a family mission statement.
