Vicky - I've heard a lot of people report great success with NAET (naet.com)

which is a noninvasive, kind of " Eastern " allergy treatment which has

(supposedly) worked miracles for some people. It's actually an allergy

clearing technique. It's relatively cheap, about $250 for 10 treatments, and

might be worth trying.

Listmates, my husband suffers greatly from allergies.

He has post nasal drip and tiredness and other

symptoms. I was wondering if anyone can suggest and

herb or supplement that would help to alleviate some

of these allergy related problems. Thanks in advance!

I thought it was a voodoo ritual, but it did a lot of good for me.

It is more if you have an acupuncturist do it, and you really do need

to have it done with needles. People using the acupressure technique

lose their treatments in a few years and end up MORE allergic.

We used NAET in the past, and just re-started it for my son, and he

had a dramatic improvement just after being treated for the HepB

vaccine at the gastrointestinal level and the cerebellar level. Both

he and his lil sis were treated this way. She had infrequent stooling

early on and then stopped having bowel movements altogether after her

7 month vaccines. Anyway-- he was a changed child after that

treatment and my daughter actually had a bowel movement on her own

for the first time since Dec 2001 when we were doing acupuncture on

her. So that was no coincidence. My son was getting very hyper,

weird, sensory, and after that treatment for the HepB vax, he began

talking to us more, being interested in his sister, being very lucid,

and being able to explain some of his sensory symptoms to me... being

able to read my facial expressions much better. As an aside, tonight

he watched the video of Karyn's interview with me, and after it was

over, he said hello to his sister, and she said hello back, and then

he turned to me and said " mom, something's not right with Elora.

When I she said hello to me, her eyes were looking over there, even

though I was over here " ... I'm thinking, this coming from my little

guy who has eye contact issues himself! Wow!

Anyway, I have no idea why the NAET would work... the official

website looks too new-agey to me, and so I actually avoid reading up

on NAET. I'd rather be blissfully ignorant and just accept that it is

working for us. At one point I had dismissed it-- I could not accept

that it could have been helping my son. SO we stopped going. Things

got worse, MUCH worse. At one point I was even thinking of

medicating him--something I did NOT want to do. Things were just

deteriorating fast. So I took him back, and took home a changed

child. Even dh was seeing it. And when our dd passed a bowel

movement on her own, we could not ignore that the naet DID something.

lot about it first hand.

Sudafed

Ephedrine (ma huang)

black tea

magnesium

calcium (especially with B-12, folate and TMG)

OPC/grape seed extract

aspirin

Flax oil supplementation

licorice

DHEA 100+ mg a couple of times a day (for men, women take max 25)

pregnenolone, twice DHEA

adrenal cortex extract

digestive enzymes

air filters in the rooms, windows closed, tape around edges of

windows.

Allergy filter on furnace/air conditioner

frequent baths or showers, particularly right after coming in or on

being tired.

Vitamin A in vast quantities. Women who are or might become pregnant

must not do this - they are supposed to stay below 10,000 IU a day due

to the risk of birth defects. Everyone else, 25,000-100,000 IU a day.

As vitamin A, not carotenes.

Hi,

My husband suffers from terrible allergies, and really nothing much helps

him. But here are some natural remedies that do help a lot of people:

Nettles - supposed to dry up a runny nose

Quercetin - natural antihistamine. You can buy this in capsule or nasal

spray form.

Vit C - high doses

Nettie Pot washes

Panthenoleic Acid (sp?)

homeopathic remedies

acupuncture

These measures basically can reduce and mask symptoms, but they do not help

any root problems.

Hi Frances

I live in Washington DC, and yes the MD/DC/VA area is notoriously horrible for

allergies. It

looks like there is a yellow dust on everything!! I didn't use my car for a few

days and it

was totally covered in pollen!!! Luckily I don't have allergies or I would be in

trouble right

now. I used to have them really bad as a kid and teenager--my eyes would get

swollen

shut with puss some days. I think this diet really helps with immunity which

contributed to

my getting rid of allergies. But what really worked for me was quercetin in high

amounts.

The homopathic stuff not as much. Also make sure your daughter rinses under the

shower

before going to bed to wash off all the pollen that collects on everything so

she doesn't

roll around in it in her bed. I believe this diet would defiinetely help her

immunity so it

would be possible to get rid of them over time.
