Hi All,

Regarding my informal poll about people in this group who may have received a

Polio vaccine between 1955-1961, I received 21 responses.

10 said yes, they believed that they received the vaccine in this time frame,

and yes, they were born between 1950-1956, and yes, they have one or more

" strange " diseases.

1 replied that she didn't know if she received a Polio vaccine during

1955-1961, but said yes, she was born between 1950-1956, and has one or more

" strange " diseases.

2 were born slightly later (1957 and 1960), received a polio vaccine, and

have one or more " strange " diseases. (Is it possible the bad batch of

vaccines could still have been distributed later?)

2 were born between 1950-1956, but received a Polio vaccine later (1964 and

1981), and have one or more " stange " diseases.

1 was born in 1978 but has parents who were born in 1947 and 1951, and has

one or more " strange " diseases. (Perhaps children are affected?)

I heard from 1 person who has a very interesting story. She was not born

much later in 1971, and has a sister born in 1963. She had an aunt in

Florida who had a monkey for a pet when she was a baby. All the people who

were scratched by the monkey or the cage have had a lot of problems. For

instance, open ulcerations, wounds that don't heal for a long time. She had

acm2, her sister has lupus. Coincidence?

3 said no to the first two questions, and have one or more " strange " diseases.

I don't know what this all means, but it is very odd. I am wondering if some

types of acm stem from this bad batch of Polio vaccines, is it possible that

we were not born with this but were affected by a virus in our formative

years that caused the back of the skull area to be underdeveloped?

Also, it is possible that some older children received this vaccine or even

adults. This vaccine didn't exist before, so many people may have wanted to

get it at the time.

As for me, I was born in 1953. I had roseola at 8, mononeucleosis at 16,

strange rashes starting at 20 til now, ulcerative colitis starting at 20, and

a big explosion of symtoms at age 42. My oldest sister, born in 1948, has

had strange symptoms all her life--amnesia attacks, thyroid problems,

" mini-strokes " (she has never been tested so this is just what the doctors

have told her), severe joint pain, migraine headaches. She remembers that

she received the vaccine at about age 7. She said polio was rampant when she

was a child, and was exposed to a friend that had polio. So our parents were

anxious to get us vaccinated.

As for our children inheriting the affects of this, my daughter has had

hearing problems all her life, and severe allergies. My oldest sister has a

son with severe allergies.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION. I have a printout of the results, in

case we should hear any more about this.

Hugs to all,

Jeanne
