Guest guest
Sorry, I didn't mean to do this to them but it can't be helped. Robyn - Do NOT feel like its your fault that it got passed on down through the generations. Its not your fault that you were born with it, its no one's fault. Let go of that notion and keep your whole family informed of the chances of this being passed from generation to generation. My family has thought for years to do a medical genealogy on our family, it certainly helps the younger generations to know what we've been through in our lives and what they have a chance of appearing in their lives. You can't change it anymore than you could have changed the colour of your eyes, or the colour of your hair. Big hugs,

Guest guest
Actually, no.... Synthroid needs to be broken down in an acid environment, in the stomach, to pull off the sodium (it's levothyroxine sodium) to make it usable by your body. I'd still try to find a natural product... much much better for you IMHO. I just checked your link... I found that chart a hoot.... made the synthetics look like crap!!! Only problem is, with tablets you can split them and adjust your dosing for amount and timing.. with capsules you can't... Guest guest
I read it. The brown paper bag doesn't concern, it's the iodine in this that concrns me more, if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. The antibodies do a heavier attack, so some of the info says on the sbjct. Not all thyroid patients, but Hashi's patients aren't supposed to be eating a high iodine diet because of this, so the info says. It has been a little murky on this sbjct though. Better safe than sorry. You're obviously hypo, but there's not enough info here to see how hypo, just a too high TSH. You need another doctor, very quickly. Guest guest
Topper I went in there and looked. This was funny. Have you ever seen synthetic T4 meds in capsule form, I ask you? It was a hoot about the comparison, but I wouldn't trust these people as far as I might throw them because of the way they described getting the thyroid back in shape, as though you're going to be able to make a sick dead thyroid suddenly produce it's own hormone. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: Hashimoto's Actually, no.... Guest guest
Oh gosh.. I never caught that!!! the synthetics were capsule too!!!???!!! oh my gosh.... I've actually heard that a couple of times... I've yet to hear of someone with a verified thyroid malfunction, not just iodine deficiency, that 'cured' the gland..... Even though a cure wouldn't help me (my gland was killed) I'd dearly love to see a cure.... The best we'll do, I fear, is prevention.. teaching folks proper diet, care and reduce hazardous exposure..... *sigh* I'll go back to giggling about the chart.... hehehehehe Topper () On Tue, 31 Aug 2004 17:25:43 -0500 " " writes: Topper I went in there and looked.
