What two with MS do for entertainment, slightly off topic

My dear friend, E. who is very severely effected by MS and cannot drive, relies

on me to drive her to entertaining places on the week-ends. One of her and my

favourites is this giant dog park at Point Isabel, not far from Berkeley.

We go there often, just to watch the hundreds of fascinating dogs and people.

After many Saturdays of careful observation, AKC book in hand, we have reached

the following conclusions:

DOG ETIQUETTE

1) upon arriving at the dog park, each dog must urinate on every post in sight;

2) the next step is to poop at least once in a conspicuous spot, whether or

not the owner has a pooper scooper along;

3) the third requirement is that each dog sniff the trail of all the other dogs, and

search for friends;

4) upon locating a friend, possible mate, or friendly appearing dog, the following

ritual tends to be observed (language inserted):

A) sniff nose of other dog and or dogs;

B) rub noses and lick one another's mouths;

C) Enquire politely, "May I lick your rectum?" Then sniff, lick dog's rectum.

D) Repeat above ritual with each friendly dog you encounter, always!

E) Despite protests of human owner, if a friend is located, run as fast as

possible in circles, then pee and poop again!

5) Unfriendly dogs are shunned by other dogs, but friends are welcomed enthu

siastically and new friends made, often regardless of size, gender, etc.

6) All varieties of herding dogs, shepherds, etc. are readily noted by the fact that

they tend to want to herd their owners (who are gathered to talk) as tightly as

possible.

7) The park is on the Northern part of the San Francisco Bay on the East side,

making swimming popular, especially with Newfoundlands, St. Bernards,

Great Pyrenees, Bearnese Mountain dogs, and the like.

We saw at least 79 breeds of dogs today, spoted 24 varieties of birds, and two

varieties (benign) of snakes. This occupation can be indulged in in my small

car, i. e. "large wheel chair," by most any handicapped person.

Of course it helps if you are a true dog lover, which each of us is!

Love to all in our MSerslife group, n
