Guest guest
I have wanted to do this for a while now, but I have never gotten around to it. ) Some of you may not be aware of this function, and it is a very useful tool everyone should know. Example: You hear the doctor say (with a mouth full of food) $#* & ^$tabular... Well, you hear " tabular " fairly clear, but just cannot get a good s/l on the first part. Go into Stedman's Medical Dictionary>click on " Browse on Index " and choose " Search on Headword " >type in " *tablular " (quotations marks only for clarification) and hit enter. You will then see 3 possible answers: acetabular, postacetablular and tabular. Depending on how much context the doctor gives, you may find your answer that easy! Another example: You hear hyper????mic. Follow the steps above and type in " hyper*mic " (quotation marks only for clarification). You will then have 7 possible answers. ) You can also do this if you hear the beginning, some middle, and end: hyper??ol??mic. Type in " hyper*ol*mic " and you will get hypervolemic. A great way to narrow down the possibilities if there are a lot of choices. ) Okay, finished with my rambling lesson for the day LOL ) Dawn ) http://thevillejoins.tripod.com/MedicalTranscriptionPage.htm
