Guest guest
Hi Barbara, thanks for your response, and what you suggest sounds like a great idea! As early as my 1st cardiologist visit, I mentioned my symptoms to my Dr. and she seemed to act like she couldn't figure why I felt so bad??? Like she never had another patient that felt so bad! I was ready to go to another doctor, but decided to hold off for awhile---I think that she she finally " got it " that I do feel this bad, and that's why my treatment has been geared towards getting OUT of afib, rather than just rate control--- thanks again----doctors don't seem to know as to why i feel really bad on some days and not too bad on others. I sure wish they WOULD do a study! It seems very well put together with all the world's big guns in A-Fib. The person listed in the brochure is Kathy Kneebone, The Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St., Madison, WI 53706 tel . (Yes, that is a Wisconsin address and phone number. I think the Un. of Wisconsin is co-sponsoring the Symposium.) I talked to Muriel Corcoran in Boston. If you're going, want to try to meet there? Guest guest
Steve, A great place to eat in Boston, is up the street from the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center. Jimmy's Harborside. Good food and your on the water. 's Pier 4 is out there also, but it's more of a tourist trap. The foods OK. If you want some great food. Go to the North End of Boston. The Italian section of town. Dozens of excellent little restaurants. It's not far from the World Trade Center. Visit Quincy Market or the Aquarium. If your into Art, The Museum of Fine Arts or the Isabelle Gardener Museum are outstanding. Catch a Celtic's or Bruin's game or a Broadway Show. Hang out on Boston Common and people watch. Walk the Freedom Trail or other Revolutionary War attractions. There's plenty to do. Have Victor take you out for a beer. Remember. It Jan. in Boston. It's going to be cold and windy. Dress well. Guest guest
Hi Marcelle, I gather than as many as 40% AFIB patients report cycles, though they vary in length and intensity. It does not surprise me at all that there are cycles of symptoms, even when the AFIB is constant. Unfortunately, it has been hard to interest doctors in researching the symptoms. With this list, we could cluster people according to symptoms, and, after getting everyone extensively tested, collect a vast amount of interesting data. Guest guest
Dear Rich, Thanks for the insider info on Boston. I'm originally from Buffalo, NY where the winters were horrendous. I remember them putting up ropes on Main St. so that you could pull yourself along and not get blown away by the wind. But the blood's been thinned out quite a bit living in Malibu.
