I tried NAET myself (an adult). It is odd. You hold a vile in your hand (what your allergic to) and some manipulation is done to the body (non-invasive.) Then, you can't touch, eat, be near the allergent for a certain period of time. I tired it a couple of times ( I couldn't not touch bread when I had to make my kids school lunches.) I tired my best not to touch the bread. As you can see, I don't know if its a mind over matter or what NAET really is?

Re: NAET treatments

Why did he use you as a surrogate? Because your son was tactile

defensive or something else? Did you see any improvement in those 4

treatments? Did they tell you after how many treatments you will see

improvements? I am skeptical, would like to try, but seems to find

very little input from other parents. The theory itself seems too

good to be true, what do you think?

I know someone personally who used NAET on a typical child with SEVERE life-threatening peanut and seafood allergies....also using mom as a surrogate. I would have never believed in NAET (sounds too good to be true) but it absolutely cured the child. There was medical evidence of it through allergy testing with a seperate medical doctor. So....IF autistic symptoms are allergy related, then Im guessing it may do good. Im having my child go through bloodwork to determine if he has allergies, then may consider NAET. I dont know either....if it really helps autistic kids, why arent others talking about it or why isnt it covered on TV reports? Hmmmm....ra7117 wrote: Why did he use you as a surrogate? I was used as a surrogate because my son is somewhat scared of doctors, he also has a hard time focusing and sitting still for a period of time. During each treatment I was required to hold a vial of the allergen during the process, because we didn't want to risk my son holding the vial and possibly dropping the vial, which would automatically lose contact for the treatment to work. I really did not see any improvements after the fourth treatments, so that's why I opted to try a faster treatment (I took my son to Melbourne Florida to see Dr. Rossignol). I asked Dr. Snyder how many treatments he needed to see a difference and I was told possibly all 30 to 40 treatments (I can't remember the exact number), which could take a long time. I honestly don't know if it works. I was told by the doctor that he has had some success stories, but he's not allowed to disclose their names due to patient

confidentiality laws. I respect his statement, but I wanted to see proof. Before and after videos. I found out about NAET and Dr. Snyder' while surfing on the Internet for DAN Doctors. I am definitely skeptical regarding their theory, but I'm willing to try it and complete all treatments to see if will heal my son. I just don't want to feel guilty later on thru the years saying I didn't try. If you want to email me off line please feel free to contact me at babyface928@... I also have a friend who used NAET on a typical child for a severe MSG allergy, and it has made a world of difference!

At NAET, they can determine what allergies there are, tapparently that's why they have you hold up various vials. The Dr that my friend goes to says its good for kids who have autism and casein/wheat allergies.

The doctor who developed the technique has a book out on it which explains everything. Go check into it at the library or and Noble.

Im sure if you call a NAET doc, they would explain it better. Ive heard a lot of good about Dr. Fergang (2 diff sources). I think it is Westgate chiropractic. . Good luck. If you do try it, let us know if you experience any great wonders. Also, if you Google NAET, there is plenty of info out there!RLisme1@... wrote: The doctor who developed the technique has a book out on it which explains everything. I have a friend with a typical child with severe wheat allergies, and unfortunately the treatment did not help him at all. I don't want to discourage anyone from trying this, but thought I'd put it out there. Good luck! :) Kathleen wrote: I also have a friend who used NAET on a typical child for a severe MSG allergy, and it has made a world of difference!
