Guest guest
Give yourself the gift of love this Christmas..to last through the New Year. Allow yourself to feel love and affection for others without turning this love into neediness or demands for love in return. The most important relationship you have in the world is with yourself, a relationship of deep respect, trust and love, where you feel whole and complete just as you are. And once that is firmly established, you can learn to love others in a warm and caring way, centered in a form of giving that is a glow from your inner self, rather than a form of giving that is really trading, where you will give love only in exchange for a promise of love in return.Love without trying to get is not martyrdom or sacrifice. It is not painful. If you are feeling hurt, lonely and overlooked, then you are not feeling love; you are feeling the lack of love for yourself.Loving is a great gift you give yourself. Allow your heart to gladden when someone walks in the room; allow the sunshine of that person's glow to brighten your day. Learn to feel that and enjoy it without then chasing after them to try to get something from them, a special relationship or recognition, in other words, a trade.Today, be aware if your relationships are based on barter, where you make sure the relationship is always kept even, that you receive as much as you give. It is an old habit that you may not even be aware of. And it is closely related to the hurt feelings we spoke of yesterday, for love barters lead to hurt and resentment, especially if the other person is not even aware of the deal you have made.If you see that you are doing this, ask yourself if this is the way you truly wish to love. Do you want love to be like this, an even exchange? Or do you want to learn to give yourself the gift of love by allowing yourself to fill with love and bask in the glow of the love that you have generated? Why allow yourself only to feel joy in love received and not in love given? For if you will allow yourself to enjoy giving love, truly bask in it, and let the love you feel for others to flow through you and ignite you with ever more love, then you have given yourself the ability to feel joy at any time you care to, simply by sitting quietly and thinking of one you love, sending them a rainbow of love and caring, arcing across to them, no matter where they are and what role they may or may not have in your life. You are blessed with the deep feeling you have and you allow your heart, soft and warm and open, to carry this great gift of caring, a gift that no one else can take away, a gift that requires no trade, no getting, no exchange. Thus love simply is, and its beauty fills your life. Always, Crystal
