My daughter has her stepson's 2 y.o. daughter under her care this year while he

finishes his time abroad in the service. She strongly suspects, and I agree with

her, the child may have a gluten intolerance bc of the symptoms she presents.

They don't want to put her through the trauma of testing if they can treat

symptomatially because just the detachment and changes of climate and

environment have caused her enough stress already.

Major symptom is extreme constipation since 6 months. Through trial, error, her

own research and my limted guidance, she has pinpointed refined and complex

wheat products to be the biggest culprits, and sees improvement in the

constipation when she eliminates these products from the diet. She is seeking

professional advice from an RD with training and expertise in possible celiac

that is experienced with peds and willing to treat based on symptoms w/o having

to put the child through invasive testing right now. As I said, my knowlege is

limited, I've never done this type of nutritional care, and it's been centuries

since I've worked peds, and I wouldn't treat a family member.

She has insurance and her MD and NP agree that professional RD help will be of

great benefit and will give the referral once she finds the person. Although

they live in the East Sierras (Northern CA), she's willing to and able to do

consults electronically and/or via phone. If after initial consult face-time is

needed she's willing to consider that and arrange for it.

Please let us know via private email if you or anyone you know is willing and

available to discuss providing this service with my daughter.

You can reach her at the cc email address above, mach_90631@..., or email

me privately at dignacassens@....

Thanks!!
