Areas of victory

Hi Everyone,

I was reading everyone's posts and thought that I would share some

ways that I realize that I have been having victory.

One of the areas where I feel constant guilt is soda. I love Coke.

I especially love to eat it with pasta or pizza. In fact, it has

always been a given that I drink Coke when I have either of these.

However, I have been noticing lately that Coke isn't what I am

desiring. What I have been desiring is very cold milk with some

Nesquik in it. It tastes so delicious to me right now!

Here is another area of victory. One thing that I really enjoy

doing is going out to my local Mexican restaurant with People

magazine and having dinner by myself. I have three children under

the age of 5 and we live in a small town. If we still lived in a

city, I would probably go shopping. That isn't much of an option

here so I have discovered that I have discovered the restaurant

option instead. I realize that ideally I shouldn't read while

eating, but I am not ready to give up this weekly treat right now.

Anyway, I used to just plow through my meal and not taste it and I

would end up eating a lot. The past few times, however, I have

really taken my time and enjoyed the flavor of the food while also

enjoying my magazine (I kind of go back and forth between the two).

The result is that I have eaten about half as much as I used to.

All of a sudden I just hit this satisfied state and I put the fork

down. In fact, I have started doing that a bit more at home.

I still have a long way to go, but I am getting there bit by bit. I

am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

By the way, I would not recommend trying to start IE when you are in

PMS! I was trying to implement it during a particularly rough

cycle. I think that this was a mistake because I couldn't stop

eating everything in sight and because my hormones and emotions were

all over the place I felt just miserable about it.
