Guest guest
Thanks Jaana, He has a urinary problem that results in mucus and tiny crystals forming a plug and he can't pass urine. He has pushed several out on his own but this time seems to be in bad shape. I don't feel like I cn make choices now and have had some of my meds lowered but it seems to take time for system to ajust. The last trip to the vet cost over six hundred dollars and with me not working I do not have even a tiny bit saved aside for the animals. I am lucky to gather enough dough to feed them. No one to blame I had these animals before I was sick. I can't seem to even find the strength to smile. I stood out in the cold rain with the dogs today and they even went in before I did. Guest guest
Debi, I'm sorry about your cat. Yes, it is normal. My dog has cancer so I know how you feel. Will the vet work with you financially? Guest guest
My dog had something similar and the vet put her on vitamin C. I don't know if it works with cats or not. I also thought that male cats with that problem should only eat either wet or dry food -- I can't remember which, darn fibro fog! I know some animal organizations like the humane society sometimes helps people out with food and stuff. I'll keep you and your kids in my thoughts. Guest guest
I worked for a vet here in town and know what this is, the only way to help him is to run a cath and express the urine and get the plug out of the way. He did it on his own twice before and now it appears there is a large lump behind the plug. I have been able to express a little urine, but he is in pain and I am a zombie. So there we are.....thanks for the info. DebiAnnette Pratt wrote: My dog had something similar and the vet put her on vitamin C. I don't know if it works with cats or not. Guest guest
Wish u were here, Debi........ my close friend is a veterinarian (AND she does house calls). She'd treat kitty for free if u can't pay - she NEVER would allow an animal go without treatment just because of finances (or see their owners starve in order to cover their vet bills) "can't seem to even find the strength to smile" <---- you took the words right out of my mouth. Hang in there, my friend..... what are u going to do? will u be able to take kitty to the vet? Guest guest
I'm sorry, Debi. I love animals, wish I could help. Annette Re: Re: Grim Reaper over shoulder/OT cat/ DY I worked for a vet here in town and know what this is, the only way to help him is to run a cath and express the urine and get the plug out of the way. He did it on his own twice before and now it appears there is a large lump behind the plug. I have been able to express a little urine, but he is in pain and I am a zombie. So there we are.....thanks for the info. Debi

And my male Cavalier has cancer too, he is runnin out of time too. Hurting more each day. I am getting pretty tired of this whole thing. Thanks for the kind words, Debi

Guest guest
Oh, Debi. I am SO sorry. Lots of hugs. Love & Peace,Annette "The time is always right to do what is right" - Luther King, Jr. Re: Re: Grim Reaper over shoulder/OT cat/ DY Well sweetness, it is 3 am and he has managed a few drops of urine, no blood. The vet in town has another man on call and he doesn't have any answering machine hooked up. SO I am really pissed, if Little Boy wasn't barfing I would feel more optimistic. I am gonna try to stay up until 7am and find someone to drive me to my vet and then see what he says. Maybe I cam give him some jewelry as collateral. I have to either have him put to sleep,....put to sleep,..... strange way to relabel, " KILL MY CAT" don't ya think? Or write more post dated checks that I hope I can pay. This No money thing sucks so much. We make it all so nice and pretty when we put an animal to sleep....like he would just fall into a dream never to wake up.
