I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still OK. Saturday was so busy with our yard sale and then trying to rest afterwards. I decided at the LAST minute to redecorate the office. On time too many of Ronnie waking up in the morning only to find someone sleeping on the couch in the living room and we decided needs a den where she and her friends can hang out and crash if they need to without interrupting the normal flow of things around here. No, I couldn't wait until after 's sister left, that would make too much sense!!! Yes, I was in a tizzy trying to clean things so it's been even worse trying to redecorate AND keep things clean at the same time!!!!! So far the visit is going OK. We got our wires crossed and they called to say they were ahead of schedule and would call when they got here. We went ahead and paid for another night at the hotel since they would be in around 11:00 (Jehovah's Witness Convention in town and the hotels are BOOKED! So I was able to grab a room that was just cancelled for that night. WELLLLLLLLLLL they decided it was too late to call when they got in so they stayed in the next closest hotel with an opening, 45 miles back the way they had just come!! Anyway, after that episode, everything has gone really well. Sheree seems like such a sweetheart, very shy and quiet (yeah, she's really 's half sister!)and her boyfriend of 10 years came with her and he is adorable! I really think she's going to be able to help deal with a lot of issues revolving around their father. She's 28 and they had a tough discussion tonight about waiting for him to "come around" and want to see them. Sheree told she waited 28 years and nothing has happened and she asked how long SHE was going to waste her time too. admitted, which she never has to me, that she is, indeed, still waiting for the man to show up some day to see her. I hope I was right in allowing this meeting to take place. I don't want to see hurt and I hope this gives her the chance to someone who has gone through the same thing! Tomorrow is busy too but I'm figuring in resting time. Just no computer time! I hope everyone is ok. I'm a phone call away if anyone needs me. We moved out the long table witht he computer on it so that entire wall is open now. I also took out the sewing cabinet (the antique one... I would be happy to trade you for the day bed!) and moved the large dresser that was my granny's to that wall for the tv so that side is empty now too. Only my paint table remains on the wall by the door so a day bed is exactly what I'm looking for now and I never imagined one that made into a larger bed!!! We used to have a white iron one that was just a single bed and I thought that's what I was looking for again. How much do you want for it and how can we get it here? I got a lot of rest today. We took everyone to breakfast at 7 am so could get to camp at 8:00 and Ronnie took them around the county while I came home and slept and now they are on their own until 3:00 when gets home and they are coming here for a birthday party! Talk about throwing something together!!!! They "let it out" last night that TODAY is Sheree's 28th birthday. This trip was her birthday gift from her family! So we ordered a cake (with Sunflowers... talk about an obsession... her home is wall to wall sunflowers LOL) and we're just having sandwiches, chips, etc for dinner here. She made some videos of her family so we're watching those tonight. Here are some pics we took yesterday in Plains with the digital camera. It's strange but, not only physical, we are spotting a LOT of mannerisms that are identical in the 2 girls! Even Nick, Sheree's boyfriend of 10 years has noticed a lot! One is that if and Sheree are in a room, no one else might as well even attempt to get a word in edgewise! Damn those girls can talk! LOL Dawn lemme know about that bed.... what an angel you are!! I thought she was just telling you that that would be a good idea for you. LOL You know you can find the daybeds with the pop-up trundles at most any mattress store like Mattress Giant. You can also find them in JCPenney catalog, Sears, etc. They really aren't hard to find. It's a great solution to a space problem. I'm trying to figure out how I can talk Jim into letting me change his bedroom into that configuration. I can just hear all the reasons he's going to say it can't be done. If I didn't love my reclining/adjustable bed so much, I would do it in my room. I need to figure out a way to free up some space in my room. She brought pictures of her mom when she married Tim (my ex) and you could have switched our dresses and we would have been interchangeable! We figured that's why Sheree looks so much like and also like Tina!! Same father and their mom's are similar so the kids are bound to be alike! The video of Sheree's mom showed that she looks just like an older, albeit thinner, me. I felt really creeped out! We also discovered, through ads and such in their local paper, that my ex now has yet another child. A 2 year old girl named Pamela . His wife's name is Pamela Kay. That's his modus operandi! First wife: Sheree Ann child: Sheree Lynn Second wife: Ann daughter: also his name is Jerome, boys were Jerome Jr and Jerome Third wife: Ida daughter: Fourth wife was 58 and he wanted her to have a baby LOL her grown sons and her grandchildren objected hehehe Fifth wife: Pamela Kay child: Pamela How's that for freaky???? Anyway, we dug out an old tape from when was born and also when my grandfather filmed Tim and I leaving for California in 1983. Sheree got to see what he looked like 20 years ago and also she was able to hear his voice. She had never heard him speak before then. I did really well today. They went sightseeing around town so I slept till 2:30 and then they came over for sandwiches and then we did the birthday cake and we just watched videos. We'll do the same thing tomorrow with breakfast at 7 and then I can take my meds and pass out for a while. They're leaving Wed morning so I think I'm doing really well resting and taking it easy. Sheree and are going swimming alone tomorrow so I get a break then. Tina called today. She bought a computer. Kind of. She got one at a rent to own place and I can only imagine what she's paying for it! She'll never learn! She went there to buy (?) a couch for her latest new place (argh!!) I guess she's too good for Goodwill and thrift shops? I had plenty of furniture from there when I started out! OK enough venting. She brought pictures of her mom when she married Tim (my ex) and you could have switched our dresses and we would have been interchangeable! We figured that's why Sheree looks so much like and also like Tina!! Same father and their mom's are similar so the kids are bound to be alike! The video of Sheree's mom showed that she looks just like an older, albeit thinner, me. I felt really creeped out! We also discovered, through ads and such in their local paper, that my ex now has yet another child. A 2 year old girl named Pamela . His wife's name is Pamela Kay. That's his modus operandi! First wife: Sheree Ann child: Sheree Lynn Second wife: Ann daughter: also his name is Jerome, boys were Jerome Jr and Jerome Third wife: Ida daughter: Fourth wife was 58 and he wanted her to have a baby LOL her grown sons and her grandchildren objected hehehe Fifth wife: Pamela Kay child: Pamela How's that for freaky???? Anyway, we dug out an old tape from when was born and also when my grandfather filmed Tim and I leaving for California in 1983. Sheree got to see what he looked like 20 years ago and also she was able to hear his voice. She had never heard him speak before then. I did really well today. They went sightseeing around town so I slept till 2:30 and then they came over for sandwiches and then we did the birthday cake and we just watched videos. We'll do the same thing tomorrow with breakfast at 7 and then I can take my meds and pass out for a while. They're leaving Wed morning so I think I'm doing really well resting and taking it easy. Sheree and are going swimming alone tomorrow so I get a break then. Tina called today. She bought a computer. Kind of. She got one at a rent to own place and I can only imagine what she's paying for it! She'll never learn! She went there to buy (?) a couch for her latest new place (argh!!) I guess she's too good for Goodwill and thrift shops? I had plenty of furniture from there when I started out! OK enough venting. How did Sheree come to be adopted? I know you told us but I can't remember. My second hubby re-married almost immediately to the girl he'd been cheating with. He went from me --I'm four years older than him--to her--she' ten years younger than him. In his family the boys always get the father's first name as a middle name. Now he's added a new twist--his daughter has his wife's first name as a middle name. In my family my Mom was named after both grandmothers ( Louise) and I was named after both grandmothers (who were both named e, then I got Louise as a middle name, LOL) My poor Dad and brother--Earle Forney Jr and III, my brother always said there wouldn't be a IV. So far so good--no kids--and if they have any (doubtful) I'm kidnapping the kid and no one in their right mind will stop me. He had said that he was in Cuba in the Marines when Sheree was 18 months and his wife divorced him and her new hubby adopted Sheree. He said they sent him a notice but he couldn't leave to go back to the states then and when he could get back, it was too late. In reality, Sheree's mom divorced him when Sheree was 18 months. When she was 5, her mom had been remariied for a while then and then he was going to adopt Sheree. My ex was in NC (not too far away from PA to get there if he had wanted!) and he was notified several times. He didn't respond so the week before the final hearing, Sheree's new father called my ex's. He wasn't home but his wife said he did know about the adoption and chose not to contest it and wouldn't be at the hearing. For 8 years I heard about "his baby girl" and how he didn't know where she was but when she was 18 he was going to find her. Well, she's 28 and her grandparents have never moved and never changed their phone number and they are all listed in the phone book in the same town they've always lived in. Just in case he ever wanted to call. I just hope her visit to NC doesn't cost her like it did us!! My ex is so paranoid and always thinks people are plotting against him, I would truly love to send him a picture of me, , Sheree and her mother all together LOLOL He would think we were plotting indeed! LOL That could be the thing that drives him over the egde!
