Guest guest
Lori, I didn't know this sort of thing existed but it explains Kody to a T. He will be fine and then suddenly he HAS to go and he has to go NOW. We have gotten very irritated at him as we just were where he could have gone maybe 2 minutes earlier and he swears he didn't have to go. We just couldn't believe that and have really talked to him about this. Now I feel bad and will have to talk to him and we'll talk about trying to go when he has an oppurtunity before we go somewhere & how this happens to other people too so he won't feel bad. Do you think this ties into his bedwetting? S. Guest guest
This seems to be a very common problem. I have six grandchildren with this very same situation. You almost want to bring a porta potty with you. :-) Alice Re: Eileen-incontinent > > >> >> >>HI Eileen, >> >>Alycia is younger being 5 however she has been diagnosed with a spastic >hyper-reflexive bladder which >>causes urge incontinance. Guest guest
Alice, I have taken a jar but now he is so old he won't pee in it! But what do you do on the freeway in bumper to bumper traffic, etc.? It is also embarressing when they wet their pants and it isn't their fault. And after a certain age you can't let them out to pee just anywhere! S. Guest guest
Eileen, Have you heard of irritable bowel syndrome? It is my understanding that it can make you have to go RIGHT NOW and without warning that could also explain the problem with Kody. Just a thought... Guest guest
It's me, , that has Kody, and thank you for that thought. He doesn't seem to have the cramping tho, but who knows, will ask the Dr. when i talk about this. S. Re: Eileen-incontinent From: nmnett@... Guest guest
Many Mito patients are diagnosed with IBS but from what I understand, the real problem is due to the loss of muscular control due to the Mito. The Mito patient who is suffering with this simply can' t feel it when they go. Not very pleasant. Alice Re: Eileen-incontinent From: nmnett@... Guest guest
That's a thought but he won't wear the nighttime big kid underwear either. I'll talk to him about it tho, esp. if the Dr. tests him and he really has this technically maybe he will be more willing on both helps. S.
