Guest guest
What Jan said, plus....The UGA publishes " So Easy to Preserve " , it's about $18 with shipping. The Ball Blue Book is smaller, but has good basic instructions. I've seen it in most stores with canning supplies and got my copy at Walmart. You can download and print the USDA complete guide or order a bound copy in color. Also, U of Wisconsin extension has some excellent pickling recipes. Kansas State U extension (go 'cats!) has several food preservation guides too. It may be easiest to google " food preservation edu ext " to get quickly to the research-based guides. in the little apple... Re: [LEAP_RDs] Help me find a good canning cookbook No book, but how about info online? Check with your local Extension Service. They often have a lot of free, good info. Or, even google Extension + " canning recipes " And, check these out: National center for home food preservation _http://www.uga.edu/nchfp/_ (http://www.uga.edu/nchfp/) _http://lancaster.unl.edu/food/foodpres.shtml_ (http://lancaster.unl.edu/food/foodpres.shtml) Jan Patenaude, RD, CLT
