A man in Indiana was hospitalized a couple

days ago because he ate too many cicadas and had an allergic reaction.

I wonder how many carbs they are?

of course there are things some people eat that I personally will never

eat!! No matter how they're fixed!!! Pickled pigs feet come to mind,

brains and blood sausage. Just a few of the things that my parents use

to eat and I will eat!!!

Sure. Some

things are so disgusting and "out of the norm" that I'd never encourage

anyone to eat them. But I doubt most people would equate a normal

veggie with any of those. LOL! My parents love pickled pigs feet. Yuck!

If someone is truly disgusted and would vomit, then pass it by. I just

don't find many people are truly disgusted by veggies... more that they

"think" they don't like them, or they tried them as a child and didn't

like them (not many children love veggies, although my nephew did).

It's about being open to trying something new, the mindset, not about

disgusting yourself.

I watch my 5 year old cousin everyday and I try to feed her healthy goods, she eats 2-3 meals here a day. She likes broccoli, spinach, cailiflower, salads, eggplant...........

Basically she eats what we eat which is low sugar, lower fat, ect. I had a kidney transplant 10 years ago and I have to eat healthy. Tonight I made spinach casserole with ricotta, a litttle feta. onions, 2 eggs, a little garlic and she ate hers all up plus she asked got seconds!

Kids learn by example and if they see you eating good foods they learn to eat like that also. For breakfast she has Cheerios or oatmeal with fruit and yogurt. lunch usually some fresh turkey or chicken sandwich on wheat bread or a little roll or some soup. She can have her goodies too but I give her one or two cookies with low fat milk in the afternoon or she has fruit. It helps also that she "helps" me cook so she's proud that she contributed to the meal also.

There really isn't any particular food you *must* eat every day. The general

guidelines are to eat 5 servings of allowed vegatables and 5 servings of

proteins every day. Which vegetables and which proteins are your choice as

long as they are on the allowed list.

In the Book Dr. A. lists V8 (vegetabel juice cocktail) as a breakfast

" dish " . I really like V8 and will chug down a whole can without thinking

about it.
