Maids in this area (rural Colorado), maids without a high school degree make $20/hour. I think this a pretty accurate reflection for the area. People come down here and complain how low the pay is, but the choice is take it or be unemployeed. You also need to take into account what kind of benefits the employeer is offering, that can really add to your " actual " pay. Independent consultants make more per hour, but how much do they really take home after they pay their own taxes, insurance and other overhead?
